"And, behold, they cried out, saying, What have we to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of God? art thou come hither to torment us before the time?" Matthew 8:29

I feel that this is another verse that kind of gets over looked or doesn't get talked about much. But this verse looks deeply into the spiritual warfare that many people miss.

Charles Stanley said about this verse "The demons knew who Jesus was, and in their knowledge, they trembled. The acknowledgment of Christ's power should lead us to personal surrender and transformation. "

Let's take a little closer look at what's happening in this verse. First in the verse they called out " What have we to do with thee". They recognize Yeshua immediately, and they cry out with fear, revealing something important, His divine authority and power over them. I believe that this is significant when you view the source it is coming from. It shows Yeshua's true divine nature. Some people hasn't gasp this yet when you look at the numbers.

Approximately 2.38 billion people profess to be Christian globally. It seems like a lot until you put the numbers against the worlds population of 8.2 billion. That's about one-third of the world's total population are professing Christ as their Savior.

Then the phrase "Jesus, thou Son of God" is acknowledging his Godly divinity of not only earth but in Heaven itself.

In those times, just like today, the Son has his Father's influence and power backing Him. When He spoke it was as if the Father was speaking.

John 10:30 says " I and my Father are One". This true statement that Jesus made lets you know that both Father and Son are in one accord.

And the third part of this verse "art thou come hither to torment us before the time?"

This lets us know that even the demons know their time is limited here. And Yeshua's authority surpasses any demonic force. It's important for us to know that to align ourselves to Yeshua is to walk with the One that has ultimate and complete authority in Heaven and Earth . Just like every demonic force knows their time is really limited, so is ours. Who have we reached out to in Yeshua's name?

Just like Yeshua walked with the Father, are we walking with Him?
