THE PILGRIMS GUIDE TUESDAY AUGUST 19, 2025 AN ENDURING LOVE A WORD FROM THE WORD: "Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance." 1 Corinthians 13:7 NLT. When you seek to find and know what real, true and enduring love looks like when someone hurts you deeply or lets you down, you don't have to go far from our anchor text. Here, Paul, the apostle, by the Holy Spirit's inspiration gives us, from the context how true love stays strong no matter what. True love is enduring and carries heavy burdens, believes the best about people, keeps hope alive, and never gives up. It is the same love the LORD Jesus showed when He carried our sins, and endured the pain of the Cross for the salvation of our souls. When you feel like giving up on someone, remember how that the LORD Jesus never gave up on you. When you are wooed by your human spirit to close your heart, and live and act without love, think of His open arms on the Cross. Loving like the LORD Jesus loves is not always easy but with the help of the Holy Spirit, you can choose love over anger and kindness over bitterness.
