THE POWER OF FORGIVENESS

A WORD FROM THE WORD:

"But love your enemies, do good to them, and lend to them without expecting to get anything back. Then your reward will be great, and you will be children of the Most High because He is kind to the ungrateful and wicked." Luke 6:35 NIV.

Forgiveness is at the core of a true believer in Christ Jesus' character. The LORD Jesus commands us to love our enemies, even those who spitefully use and persecute us (Matthew 5:44), in addition to that, to lend to them without expecting anything in return (Luke 6:35). This, I must be frank with you requires great humility and trust in God's help.

Forgiveness doesn't mean condoning or forgetting the wrong done against you, but it releases you from the burden of bearing resentment and bitterness. When you choose to forgive, you reflect the heart of your Father in heaven, who extends His kindness even to the wicked and ungrateful.

When you demonstrate forgiveness, you allow God to work through you, exhibiting His transformative power to a broken world. You become an agent of reconciliation and instrument of His grace. Your resolve and willingness to forgive can lead others to know God's love and experience His work of redemption in their lives.

PRAYER BULLETS:

1). LORD Jesus, grant me the strength and grace needed to forgive those who have wronged me.

2). Help me to let go of any grudges or resentment, knowing that You are my ultimate source of justice and healing.

3). Enable me to extend Your love to those who hurt me, that they may encounter grace through my actions.

FURTHER READING:

Matthew 6:14-15; Psalm 66:18; Luke 6:37b.
