THE PILGRIMS GUIDE MONDAY AUGUST 25, 2025 RETURN TO YOUR FIRST LOVE A WORD FROM THE WORD: "....I have this against you, that you have left your first love." Revelation 2:4 NKJV. From our foundational Scripture we see one of the saddest rebukes to any individual or a local church in the Bible, and that was to the church in Ephesus: “You have left your first love." Was the LORD Jesus' rebuke. And that was to a church that was full of doctrine, endurance, and good works, yet it had lost its passion. The purpose and intention of such rebuke from the LORD Jesus was to rekindle love, and not for condemnation. On a personal level, when you stray away from Him, your first love; it brings you back to that place where God’s presence was more valuable than success, and intimacy with Him mattered more than performance. When the LORD Jesus is revealed afresh to your heart, the fire of His Spirit returns and is rekindled within. Childlike wonder, hunger for His Word, and joy in worship are reignited. You cannot encounter Him and remain lukewarm ever, but you will definitely (remember and) return to your first love. PRAYER BULLETS: LORD Jesus, thank You for the privilege of ever knowing You.
