To claim to be a soldier of Christ while feeding the mind with worldly TV shows and movies is a contradiction.
Biblical reasoning:
Allegiance – A soldier of Christ must not entangle himself “with the affairs of this life” (2 Timothy 2:4). Entertainment that glorifies sin entangles the heart with the enemy’s cause.
Mind sanctification – Philippians 4:8 commands believers to think on what is true, pure, just, and lovely. Much of worldly media contradicts this.
Two masters – Matthew 6:24: “No man can serve two masters.” Divided loyalty is impossible.
Spiritual danger – Ephesians 5:11: “Have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.” Watching them for pleasure is a form of fellowship.
A true soldier of Christ cannot justify indulging in entertainment that advances Satan’s values. To do so undermines the very warfare he is enlisted in.
