The cross of Christ glorifies the justice of God in that the penalty God had pronounced upon sin was carried out. It glorifies the grace of God in that it provides the way for sinners to be freed from the penalty of sin. And it glorifies the wisdom of God in that the cross satisfied at one and the same time the seemingly conflicting demands of God’s justice and grace. – Roger Ellsworth
