The Bible is very clear that heaven is a prepared place for a prepared people. Jesus said, “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of My Father who is in heaven” (Matthew 7:21). This means that it is not enough to just profess Christianity with our lips; our lives must also reflect Christ.

Heaven is holy, and sin cannot enter there. If you are practicing certain things, the Word of God warns that heaven is not your portion unless you repent and turn back to Jesus.

1. Living in Unrepented Sin

Galatians 5:19–21 lists the works of the flesh: sexual immorality, impurity, hatred, jealousy, drunkenness, idolatry, and many others. The Scripture says clearly, “Those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God.”

2. Loving the World More Than God

1 John 2:15 says, “Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in them.” When money, fame, or worldly pleasure takes the first place in your heart, you are pushing God aside.

3. Unforgiveness

Jesus taught in Matthew 6:14–15 that if we refuse to forgive others, our heavenly Father will not forgive us. A heart full of bitterness cannot enter heaven, because heaven is a place of pure love.

4. Hypocrisy and Pretending to Be Righteous

Many will say, “Lord, we preached in Your name, healed in Your name,” but Jesus will respond, “Depart from Me, I never knew you” (Matthew 7:22–23). Living a double life, pretending before people while sinning in secret, will shut the gate of heaven.

5. Rejecting Jesus Christ

The greatest barrier to heaven is rejecting Jesus, the only way, the truth, and the life (John 14:6). No matter how “good” a person may look, without Christ, there is no entry into heaven.

The Good News

Even though these things disqualify us, the blood of Jesus qualifies us. If you repent today, confess your sins, and surrender your life fully to Christ, He will cleanse you and make you fit for heaven.

Heaven is real. Hell is real. The choice is yours today.

Call upon Jesus now — tomorrow may be too late.

Repent and be saved, for the Kingdom of Heaven is near. Turn from your sins today, accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, and receive the gift of eternal life.
