A Dwelling Place for God

Scripture

Exodus 25:8 (NKJV)
And let them make Me a sanctuary, that I may dwell among them.


God Desires to Dwell With His People

In this verse, God commands Israel to build Him a sanctuary. The purpose was not about a grand structure but about His presence. God’s desire was to dwell among His people, to be near them in their journey, and to have a place where His glory could rest.

This reveals the heart of God. From the beginning, His plan has been to be with His people. Later, this promise would be fulfilled in Jesus Christ, who came to dwell among us. Today, through the Holy Spirit, God’s presence is not confined to a sanctuary but lives within every believer.

This verse challenges us to prepare our hearts as living sanctuaries, making room for God’s presence daily.

2. How am I honoring my body and life as a temple of the Holy Spirit?

3. Do others see evidence that God is dwelling within me?



Prayer

Lord God, thank You for desiring to dwell with Your people. Make my heart a sanctuary where Your Spirit is welcome. Cleanse me, renew me, and fill me with Your presence so that my life reflects Your glory. In Jesus name, Amen.
