SERVING CHRIST BY SERVING OTHERS
A WORD FROM THE WORD:
"And the King will answer and say to them, 'Assuredly, I say to you, in as much as you did it to one of the least of My brethren, you did it to Me'" Matthew 25:40 NKJV.
The LORD Jesus, through His life, death and resurrection, showcased and set for us the ultimate example of what it means to render service to others. We consider His vicarious and sacrificial life to draw lessons from Him, and then, follow His example.
Rendering service is a part of the calling of every Christian. And this calling should remain constant throughout our lives if we desire to please Him, even if the ways and places we render services changes.
Sometimes, we may find it difficult to live our calling to render services to others due to emotional, relational and other sundry reasons of the sinful nature of humanity, but we're not left spiritual orphans as the LORD Jesus, through His Spirit, strengthens our weary souls with His word, when we cannot help ourselves.
We must strive to align our spirit with the Holy Spirit to keep our spirit fervent, even in the fiercest battles of our spiritual faculties, and to fully realise that in serving others, we are invariably serving the LORD Jesus Christ Himself.
PRAYER BULLETS:
LORD Jesus, thank You for Your exemplary lessons to me on service. May the blood of Your vicarious sacrifice never be in vain in my life as You continually strengthen me to serve.
FURTHER READING:
1 Peter 4:10-11; Galatians 5:13-14; Matthew 20:28; Philippians 2:1-11.
