SPIRITUAL REFINEMENT AND PURIFICATION
A WORD FROM THE WORD:
"... For he is like a refiner's fire and like fullers' soap. He will sit as a refiner and purifier of silver, and he will purify the sons of Levi and refine them like gold and silver...." Malachi 3:2-3 NKJV.
A refiner’s fire melts down a precious metal, such as gold or silver, for the purpose of purification. Once a metal is in its melted state, the impurities in the precious metal rises to the top and is then removed before it cools.
In the matter of spiritual refinement and purification, God's refining fire does not destroy the true believer in Christ Jesus, rather it allows the impurities within to come up so that it can be removed. The refiner’s fire does not consume, rather, it makes you better and more valuable. This comparison helps make sense of what God’s redemptive work may look like and accomplish in each of us.
Malachi, the prophet, was by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit through the text comparing God’s influence to a refiner’s fire, this projects a powerful picture of what happens when God’s people encounter His transformative power. The refiner's fire has begun earnestly for the true believer in Christ Jesus (the New Testament Levites).
In these perilous times, the true child of God, should endeavour to be/remain sensitive to the leading of the Holy Spirit in order not to be caught unawares or deceived. I am certain that the heat from this refiner's fire will increase in its intensity, not for your destruction, but to remove everything from you that does not serve the LORD's purpose in your lives. If you are at the moment going through times that requires you to need the LORD as much as never before, you are in good company with many true believers all around the world.
Everywhere on earth, good and honest believers in Christ Jesus have been undergoing situations they can hardly describe. These are part of God's refining fire geared towards the ultimate preparation of the endtime Army.
You need God much more than anyone else. You are being taken back to your first love. God's refining fire must burn away all of those things that have hidden the truth of the Cross from you for so long.
Embrace and live with it when it comes to you, the LORD God Himself is in this with you.
PRAYER BULLETS:
1). ABBA Father, thank You for Your mercy and grace on me. Help me to be sensitive to the leading of Your Spirit, and to patiently endure the intensity and heat of Your refining fire.
2). When I have been helped by You, make me an encourager to those passing through Your refining fire.
