1 John 4:4 NCV My dear children, you belong to God and have defeated them; because God’s Spirit, who is in you, is greater than the devil, who is in the world.

Good morning and praise God. I hope your are having a great Monday morning. Let's think about these three, flesh, world and the devil. The desires of this flesh are all known to us but Paul mentions some in Galatians 6:19-22. We also know the devil with his power to steal, destroy and kill. Lastly, we live in this world that has systems such as government, religions and so forth. A fact is that we cannot overcome these three things nor change them by our own power and strength. Unfortunately some people think they can and they get destroyed by them. John, however teach us a very important way to overcome them. Have the Spirit of God in you! He is the only one who is greater than them all. He is the only one who is able to empower you to overcome them. You cannot see the Holy Spirit except through faith and so Paul says in 2 Corinth 5:7 We live by what we believe, not by what we can see. Holy Spirit is the one who help us bear the fruit of God which are love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.Each day, crucify your old sinful self and evil things [anger , malice, adultery, hate, jealousy,envy, drunkenness, orgies etc] the flesh wanted to do and live the new life through received from Jesus Christ through Holy Spirit. This is the new person we are in Jesus Christ. Work your faith with fear and trembling. Focus on what is above and lay your treasures in Heaven and you'll overcome.
