- Nehemiah 4:9, 15-16 NIV But we prayed to our God and posted a guard day and night to meet this threat. When our enemies heard that we were aware of their plot and that God had frustrated it, we all returned to the wall, each to our own work. From that day on, half of my men did the work, while the other half were equipped with spears, shields, bows and armor. The officers posted themselves behind all the people of Judah
Good morning and praise God. I am more than happy and Holy Spirit filled as I write this devotion. I am so happy to know my redeemer lives. Hallelujah. Thank you for taking your time to be encouraged by this word as it has encouraged me.
Nehemiah choose to do God's work of rebuilding the walls. He prayed for it and wa greatly favored to be authorized in this world by the leaders who had to give him letter.
The enemy was not happy about this. The enemy always want God's peiple remain in ruin and shame. To Nehemiah, they came as Tobias , Sanballat and Geshem. They began with pretext that they wanted to help him but Nehemiah had already prayed and so would see the enemy from a distance. When the mental didn't work, they decided to become physical and fight. Nehemiah and the men working with him also armed themselves but never stopped rebuilding until all the work was done.
Oh great friend of Jesus, your enemy is watching to stope you from doing God's work. He is trying all ways to stop and maybe have won in some areas of your life and the rebuilding has stopped or is delayed in your life. From this Nehemiah story we are learning how to keep building. It is by taking the full armor of God. The helmet of salvation, breastplate of righteousness, sword of Spirit, shield of faith, belt of Truth and shoes of the Gospel of peace.
Dear friend, it is time to focus ahead to what God created you to build and rebuild. The enemy is not above the one who knew he was coming. Our Father knows all about him and is ready to shield and save us from his tricks that wastes our precious time. Sicknesses, stress, strain, fears, hopelessness, pain, dishonor and many more are not what God promised you! You only need that you're more than a conqueror in Jesus name! Youre child of Most High God. Take up your armor and defeat the enemy. Pray, and again I say pray. Talk to God who created you. With Him all things are possible.

“Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God ; believe also in me.
Good morning and praise God. I hope you're having a good day.
There's a hymn that says "ĩtĩkia Ngai ũtigane na thĩna, nĩ arĩ kuonagia maũndũ mega" [believe God and leave behind your troubles, He will be showing you good things." Some we are faced with quite unfortunate troubles that keeps us unsettled in life. Troubles can waste your precious time as you try to figure out how to get out of the troubles.
Have you ever realized that though you have many people and things to blame for your troubles doing all that is in vain. Sometimes only increases your troubles more and worse hurt more people. Doing so might also make you hypocritical in that you see their err and not yours. You judge against what God advises us to do. You fight your battles with flesh and blood yet the Bible is clear that we don't fight against flesh and blood but rather against heavenly strong powers. We hence loose the battle to eliminate our troubles.
Our word of the day gives us a solution to this. Believe in God and our Savior Jesus Christ. Believe His word . Believe that He will carry you through your troubles and that they will some day get behind you. It is not an easy thing to do . It takes so much discipline and meditation on scriptures. You must ask Jesus Christ for living waters. You must kneel at the cross and put down your life luggage there and take up on yourself the yoke of Christ. You must stop trying and believe.

For when a strong man is fully armed and guards his palace, his possessions are safe— until someone even stronger attacks and overpowers him, strips him of his weapons, and carries off his belongings.
Good morning and praise God. I hope you are having a good day.
I thank God for you who keeps following my devotions. That gives me the heart to keep typing and sharing what God has put in my heart. Be blessed.
At one point of my childhood I had been captured by some strong powers that carried away my peace and mental soundness. We were not so persistent in church going but hymns have always flowed daily from my mother's unwritten hymnbook of singing. I still wonder how she remembers all these lyrics but she has a history of having been once a baptist.
I lived under extreme panic and fear. Strange things moved in the dusk on dark village life then. The moon would only make the nightmares more real rather than bring light. This was worsened by stories of ogres and witches that were said to operate in darkness. My primary school teacher would always ask us about where we went to church every Monday. His name was Mr. Gathu from Gatwe Kogi. What was more common were Catholic mass that we attended as primary school children.
I had always had this heart of God's word. I would not want to see a Bible paper swiped like a normal paper or burned. I would pick them and put them aside. Then came Lord's Prayer which I began reading before sleeping and this is how the nightmares were slowly subdued. This is how I learned to pray. I learned that there was a person who was might and able to fight this strong evil cloud that had been pushing me to sleepless and panick filled nights.
I give you this snippet of my life to remind you of one that you need in your life. It is not all battles that you can win as long as the strong man is still in your presence. I talk to you about Jesus Christ. It is not a story of fables or trial and error. You may have already know that you're followed by powers that wishes you bad in life , powers that waste the time God has given you in this world. We all need Jesus Christ to save us from this strong man. We cannot save ourselves but He is able.
The book of Romans teaches us much about salvation but more importantly reminds us how our actions and efforts to please God are futile when we don't have the Son of God as our LORD and Savior. He loves you first so there's nothing else you can do to make Him love you more or less. All you can do is to allow Him shower you with His protection, His guidance, learning form His Word and walking with God.
Take a moment and call to Jesus Christ today. Invite Him to fight your battles but of more importance make Him your friend. He alone has life you've always desired.
Father, I have seen your salvation from the strong man who binds you children. Release your power LORD upon the life of this person reading this devotion. Break all the chains and shackles in their life and set them free. Let them receive your victory and glorify your holy name. In Jesus name, Amen.

Good morning and praise God. I hope you're having a good day. Let's pray:
Almighty Father, glory and honor to your holy name. Thank you for this beautiful day and week. Thank you for my reader. Thank you for your word. Speak to us we pray. Amen.
Let's look back to look into our shepherd holding a rod and staff to protect and comfort us. If you ever looked after animals you're already aware that the rod and staff you hold is a tool of discipline.
David says that God will be with him in that darkest valley and so he won't be afraid for God is with him and godly discipline will protect and comfort him. Hebrews 12:6-10 talks more about discipline and I encourage you to read . Verse 10 says "No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it."
By the way as a parent you're expected to discipline your own child. This indeed shows you love them and are indeed your legitimate children! If you don't they will grow not being your children for they will grow to become a people that do not uphold your godly virtues but rather vices that the world teaches. You'll blame but it was your failure all along for you refused to discipline probably in fear you don't want them experience pain that discipline comes with.
My prayer for you is that we'll accept God disciplining us in different ways, accepting the pain it inflicts especially in deviating our wonderful plans and will. Always accepting God's will to be done and in knowing that God disciplines us in order to produce in us a harvest of righteousness and peace.

Our brain is the most complex organ we have. You can imagine it controls everything in this flesh of ours and some how seems connected to a world we know very little about. Think about all the dreams you dream and all the feelings you got. Even medics researchers have not discovered enough about it.
Mind is the mental activities that this organ produces. Our verse today teaches us that we should not conform to the patterns of this world but be transformed by the renewing of our mind. Think about that in a moment. God's word is telling us that transformation begins in our mind by us protecting it from being infiltrated by patterns of this world. All tech, all work, all talks, all media, all TikTok fuss, all blogger stories, all political jargons and much more are the patterns we have.
Bible tell us that when we get transformed that way, we'll be able to test and approve what God's will is, His good, pleasing and perfect will. Isn't this what we all look for? isn't this what we want when we attend those anointing services, those miracle and wonders services, those solemn sessions in prayer centers? It is clear that not until we allow our mind renewed that we can attain all that. Our efforts will be futile if that prayer and fasting end up without your mind having been renewed.
I pray that we'll spend more time in God's presence and His word than we do spend on these worldly matters all around us in this world. I pray that you'll have your mind renewed through power of Holy Spirit. I pray that indeed you'll discover that good, pleasing and perfect will of God.

“Absalom followed Ahithophel’s advice just as David had done, for every word Ahithophel spoke seemed as wise as though it had come directly from the mouth of God.”
Good morning and praise God.
Let's pray: Almighty God, thank You for Your Word that teaches us through both faithful servants and tragic examples. Help us to walk in humility and loyalty to You. Amen.
Ahithophel was one of King David’s most trusted counselors. His wisdom was so highly regarded that his advice was considered as if one had inquired of God Himself. Yet when Absalom rose in rebellion against David, Ahithophel betrayed the king and joined Absalom’s side. He advised Absalom to commit acts that would publicly sever ties with David and to strike quickly against him while he was weary.
But God answered David’s prayer to turn Ahithophel’s counsel into foolishness. Absalom chose instead to follow Hushai’s advice, which gave David time to regroup. Realizing his counsel had been rejected and foreseeing the failure of the rebellion, Ahithophel returned home, set his affairs in order, and hanged himself.
Side Note: Some Bible scholars suggest that Ahithophel’s betrayal may have been fueled by personal pain. Bathsheba—the woman David took after arranging the death of her husband Uriah—was Ahithophel’s granddaughter. This family wound may have broken his loyalty and planted bitterness in his heart, leading him to side with Absalom against David.
Are you going through a season where betrayal has wounded you? Are you troubled by leaders who act without loyalty or integrity? Are you wondering how wisdom without humility can lead to ruin? Ahithophel’s life warns us that human wisdom, no matter how great, is empty when divorced from faithfulness to God.
This story reminds us to anchor our wisdom in humility and obedience. True counsel is not only clever strategy but loyalty to God’s anointed and submission to His will. Betrayal may seem powerful for a moment, but it ends in emptiness.
Let us therefore seek wisdom that is pure, peace-loving, and humble. Let us remain faithful even when tempted to turn aside. God honors loyalty, and He frustrates the plans of the proud.

“But I will show you that I am more powerful than Pharaoh and all of his horses and chariots. Then Egypt will know that I am the Lord. They will honor me when I defeat Pharaoh and his horse soldiers and chariots.”
Good morning and praise God.
Let's pray: Almighty God, thank You for Your mighty power that saves. Thank You for protecting us from our enemies and making a way where there seems to be no way. Speak to us through Your Word today. Amen.
This passage reminds us of one of the greatest miracles in Scripture—the crossing of the Red Sea. Pharaoh’s army pursued the Israelites, but God Himself stood between His people and their enemies. The angel of God moved behind them, and the pillar of cloud gave light to the Israelites but darkness to the Egyptians. Moses raised his hand over the sea, and the Lord caused a strong east wind to blow all night, splitting the waters and making the ground dry. The Israelites walked through the sea on dry land, with walls of water on their right and left. When Pharaoh’s chariots and horsemen tried to follow, God threw them into confusion. Their wheels stuck, panic spread, and they cried out, “The Lord is fighting against us!”
Are you going through a difficult time and wondering how you will make it through? Are you feeling cornered with no way out? Are you troubled by the state of the nation’s economy and uncertain about tomorrow? Just as God fought for Israel, He is able to fight for you. He places His presence between you and your enemies, He makes a way where there seems to be none, and He turns what looks like defeat into victory. In short God does not retreat in saving His own and Has ways that no one ever know to the same way He made everything from nothing.
This story is a powerful reminder that God is more powerful than any Pharaoh, any army, or any obstacle. Our part is to obey, to keep moving forward in faith, and to honor Him for His deliverance. Keep trusting God in everything, call to Him, read His Word and believe it. Let Jesus lead and you follow.

Shalom.0 Comments 0 Shares 9 Views - John 16:33 NLT I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.”
Good morning and praise God. I hope you're having a great day.
One day we were in mission field. We had visited many families living in what looked like farm life and were so happy. Then we say a home that was different. We were not sure the gate would even be opened for us. Surprisingly we were welcomed by a man who was slightly high. We shared word Word with him and when we were about to pray we invited him to share with us if he had anything that pressed him that we should pray and also if he wished to accept Christ.
He was silent for a moment but then in tears opened his heart to us. He told us how he had worked hard outside country whilst supporting his family back home. After explaining so much he laid bare his most hurting reality that had pushed him to be alcoholic. He once returned home to find that his wife trusted wife had been cheating on him. She had affairs whilst enjoying the fruits of the man's labor. The man had then opted for a lone home than do something worse.
Look at your life, do you really have the joy of the LORD? Do you have peace? It is unfortunate that nobody sees beyond the outside beauty except God who inspects the deepest part of us. We have many whose lives may be likened to a grave with the best looking tombstone. We know that no matter how much flowers we put up there the decomposing body inside is the reality! Christ therefore calls "Wake up! Strengthen what remains and is about to die, for I have found your deeds unfinished in the sight of my God." Rev 3:2
To expound to you and from all I have learned is that real peace is not in much wealth, positions, skills, connections or what else this world preaches but rather in your having peace with God. Having this strong bind to your Maker that poverty, sickness and all other world causers of trials and sorrows cannot breach. I walked into gated community and saw some people there have abject poverty albeit in their hearts for outside they look rich and living best lives! You will never know until you interact with some only to realize how much pain they have decided to hold by themselves and almost blowing up!
Lover of God, we have a higher calling. Jesus remind us that real peace can only be found in Him! It is not so easy especially when you've been corrupted to believe that the riches in this world will ever give you peace. It is not until you realize that your insufficiency is part of your calling. God said to Paul when he had cried so much about his condition "But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me."
I know of someone thinking that I am preaching the poverty gospel and I would still astonish them with this answer "happy are the poor in spirit, for theirs is kingdom of Heaven." Matt 5:3 We must recognize our insufficiency and instead of crying day in day out trust His supplications for what doesn't profit a man to gain whole world and forfeit their own soul? If your insufficiency, your sorrows and trials doesn't drive you nearer to God,you must have been held up so long in elementary spiritual classes. Grow up!
In conclusion, Christ overcome the world for you and me. It is however your duty and my duty to get near to Him and learn from Him. It is our duty to remove the 'riches' that block us from entering His presence with thanksgiving and worship and reverence. I pray we listen to Him, remain in Him and Him on us.
God loves you, have a blessed day and weekend ahead. Shalom. Shalom.John 16:33 NLT I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.” Good morning and praise God. Strengthen what remains and is about to die, for I have found your deeds unfinished in the sight of my God." Rev 3:2 To expound to you and from all I have learned is that real peace is not in much wealth, positions, skills, connections or what else this world preaches but rather in your having peace with God. God said to Paul when he had cried so much about his condition "But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me." I know of someone thinking that I am preaching the poverty gospel and I would still astonish them with this answer "happy are the poor in spirit, for theirs is kingdom of Heaven." Matt 5:3 We must recognize our insufficiency and instead of crying day in day out trust His supplications for what doesn't profit a man to gain whole world and forfeit their own soul? If your insufficiency, your sorrows and trials doesn't drive you nearer to God,you must have been held up so long in elementary spiritual classes. Grow up! In conclusion, Christ overcome the world for you and me. It is however your duty and my duty to get near to Him and learn from Him. It is our duty to remove the 'riches' that block us from entering His presence with thanksgiving and worship and reverence. I pray we listen to Him, remain in Him and Him on us. When she told the man of God what had happened, he said to her, “Now sell the olive oil and pay your debts, and you and your sons can live on what is left over.”
Good morning and praise God. I hope you are having a great day. Hallelujah.
In our devotion today we look into the story of a poor widow and Elisha. Her husband was one of those who served Elisha before he died leaving her in debt. A creditor was already threatening to take her two son as payment for the debt. She only had a flask of olive oil with her. Elisha told her to borrow many jar and from that small flask flowed oil that filled all other jars she borrowed.
She was now rich in olive oil but she didn't just start doing anything with it. She went back to Elisha and asked what she should do and so Elisha told her to sell and clear her debt and live on the rest.
We serve God who is not limited brethren. We are not ones who goes around corrupting ourselves in order to earn a living. We have a Father who fed 5,000 men with five loaves of bread and two fish. The sweetest part is that he doesn't just feed our hungry stomachs but also our hungry souls! A thing that natural food will never do.
We therefore worship:
"Guide me, O my great Redeemer,
pilgrim through this barren land;
I am weak, but you are mighty;
hold me with your powerful hand.
Bread of heaven, bread of heaven,
feed me now and evermore,
feed me now and evermore."
Let not the enemy remind you of that debt of sin but rather focus to the cross of Calvary where all was paid by Savior Jesus.
"Jesus paid it all,
All to Him I owe;
Sin had left a crimson stain,
He washed it white as snow."
When you focus to your Savior Jesus and and obey the leading of Holy Spirit in you, you'll have solutions even with the smallest thing you have today. That small flask of oil is enough with Him. For the rich who have been corrupted by their riches it will be easier for a camel through needle's eye into God's presence. It will not be so to you who have trusted in God like Job. You who knows that all good things comes from the LORD. You who have refused to be corrupted by the enemy's delicacies but rather choosen to even suffer along the way in order to please your maker!

Go back to what you heard and believed at first; hold to it firmly. Repent and turn to me again. If you don’t wake up, I will come to you suddenly, as unexpected as a thief.
Good morning and praise God. I hope you're having a great day. Hallelujah.
Prayer: Almighty God, thank You for this new day. Thank You for Your Word that guides us, for Your mercy that sustains us, and for Your Spirit that awakens us. Speak to our hearts today. Amen.
In this passage, Jesus speaks to the church in Sardis, warning them to return to the faith they first embraced. He calls them to hold firmly to the truth, repent, and turn back to Him. The warning is clear: if they remain spiritually asleep, He will come suddenly, like a thief, catching them unprepared. I pray you'll not be among those mentioned in Matthew 7:21-23 that Jesus said "Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven"
This message is not only for Sardis but for us today. Many times, we begin our walk with Christ full of zeal, but over time distractions, complacency, or sin creep in. Jesus reminds us to go back to that first love—the faith, joy, and devotion we had when we first believed.
To “wake up” means to be spiritually alert, to guard our hearts, and to live in readiness for Christ’s return. Repentance is not a one-time act but a continual turning back to God whenever we drift.
The promise is powerful: if we hold firmly to the truth and remain awake, we will be ready when He comes. Let us therefore rekindle our faith, renew our devotion, and walk daily in obedience.

When Jesus arrived at the official’s home, he saw the noisy crowd and heard the funeral music. “Get out!” he told them. “The girl isn’t dead; she’s only asleep.” But the crowd laughed at him. After the crowd was put outside, however, Jesus went in and took the girl by the hand, and she stood up!
Good morning and praise God. Today I return to the story of the healing of the synagogue leader’s daughter. I find it frustrating how the mourners turned to laughter when Jesus said the girl was not dead. They had been weeping, singing dirges, and making the family believe they were truly sorry and consoling—but it was all fake. Jesus literally sent them outside before calling the girl back to life.
Almost always, the crowd deceives you. It is therefore very important to remember that you came into this world alone, and you will leave it alone. On Judgment Day, you will be judged as an individual. This does not mean you must withdraw from people all the time, but there are moments when you need to know who you are apart from the crowd.
If you become the kind of person who always follows the crowd rather than Jesus Christ, you will face many problems in this world—most of which you could have avoided. Jesus Himself often withdrew from the crowd to solitary places to pray. It was not only in sad times, like in today’s passage, but also in good times. The crowd has no answers to your real problems, but God does.
I remember when the crowd once claimed that Moses should not always be the one to speak with God on their behalf. God invited them to come near, but they all retreated! They could not ascend to the place where they had insisted they wanted to meet Him. This same crowd knows how to praise, but also how to shout “Crucify!”—as they did to Jesus.
So let me ask: do you have your own personal principles, or do you simply follow the crowd? It is very important to stick with your Savior Jesus always. That is what allows God to speak and raise to life the things that are dying—or even dead—in your life.

But Naaman became angry and stalked away. “I thought he would certainly come out to meet me!” he said. “I expected him to wave his hand over the leprosy and call on the name of the Lord his God and heal me! Aren’t the rivers of Damascus, the Abana and the Pharpar, better than any of the rivers of Israel? Why shouldn’t I wash in them and be healed?” So Naaman turned and went away in a rage.

Good morning and praise God. I hope you’re having a peaceful day. Hallelujah. There’s a Sunday School hymn taken from James 4:10: “Humble yourself before the LORD, He will lift you up…”
In our reading today we meet Naaman, commander of the army of Aram. The Bible describes him as a mighty warrior, but adds that he had leprosy. Leprosy in Scripture refers to various severe skin diseases, and according to Levitical law, this made one unclean.
Through a young Israelite servant girl, Naaman heard good news that his condition could be healed. Elisha, the man of God, instructed him to dip himself seven times in the Jordan River. This did not please Naaman. He expected a more dignified miracle, perhaps in the cleaner rivers of Damascus — the Abana or the Pharpar. His pride almost kept him from his healing.
Take a moment and examine your own life. Are there areas where pride hinders God’s work? Sometimes we cling to pursuits that make us feel worthy, yet they block obedience to God. Remember Mordecai: though his adopted daughter became queen, he remained faithfully at the king’s gate. Even when honored with royal robes and parades, he stayed humble until God’s appointed time to lift him up.
River Jordan was not Naaman’s choice, but it was God’s place of healing. Perhaps you need to return to the house of God, to fellowship, to prayer, or to trusting His Word more deeply. Hallelujah — it is time to humble yourself before the LORD.
God reminds us that we never outgrow His wisdom or His meeting place. Renewal and healing come through obedience, even when His instructions seem simple or unappealing. Humble yourself before the LORD, take up your cross, and follow Jesus. Your breakthrough lies in surrender.

Back to the story of Haman and Mordecai, I really now dread ever being enemy of God and His people. Pride of life is a real liar and we know the father of all lies is Satan himself. Today we get to end of Haman's life which is the last shameful thing that happened to him just because he felt bad that Mordecai a Hebrew never bowed to him as other people of the kingdom would do. Haman's advisors (his wife and some other guys) had already seen danger in the path they had advised him to take. His wife told him that if Mordecai be a Hebrew , Haman was 'finished.' First was him walking as board guard while praising Mordecai the soldier gate, second was him being misunderstood by king when he tried to beg Esther to spare his life. This is our verse today. Last was him being impaled in the very pole he had made to kill Mordecai. When he was dead, all his bad work was overturned and God's people especially Mordecai were crowned! My friend, don't want to be God's enemy. Remember Babylon, it's fall was permanent. There was Dathan and Korah, the earth swallowed them alive! Remember the words of Jesus "that thing you do to one of these, you did it to me..." The Bible also ask us , how can you claim you love God who don't see and you don't love your fellow human being that you see. Love is the greatest commandment give us. And by the way don't look far to others that you feel hates but to yourself at your own position. Do you really love others as you love yourself? Do you really love them as God loves you? Loving them at all costs is what makes you God's friend and keep you from the ways of Haman. Haman's path is a path full of shame, pain and it only ends in death for the wages of sin is death. Jesus Christ gift is eternal life and He came that we may have life and have it in abundance. God loves you, have a blessed day. Shalom. Good morning and praise God. I hope you are having a great day. Hallelujah. Let's pray: Dear loving Father, we thank you for your grace and mercy that have sustained us this far. Thank you for choosing us to be your special loved people. Speak to us we pray. Amen. Today we get our lesson from Deuteronomy! We rarely share much from these books that shows us how God dealt with people under the law. Here we find no mercy and grace is only extended to His choosen ones with condition that they obey. All in all it is important to read these laws in order for you pilgrim to understand the seriousness of sinful living in the eyes of God. I know that some believers have so much lived to just follow the new covenant but the Bible is one complete testament - agreement between God and His people. It will be difficult for you to understand God's grace when you void the laws! Jesus in Matthew 5:17-20 reminds us that He actually came to complete the law and teachings of the prophets but not to abolish it. We see it more clearly during transfiguration. On a certain high mountain and in the view of his three inner circle disciples, Peter , John and James, we see Moses representing the law and Elijah represent Prophets appearing. By fulfilling the law we mean Jesus came to make these laws and words of prophets serve their purposes. Jesus Christ did it for you so that through Him you're made able to fulfill the requirements of God to His children. I know so far you have come to understanding that your flesh and blood cannot do what God wants you to do not win battles of this life. It is only through power of Holy Spirit that we are able to be more than conquerors! Being a born again Christian doesn't still mean you keep living in encouraging sinful living around you! Romans 12:2 teach us "Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will." Now I will ask you to remove Hittites, Amorites, Jebusites, Perizites and Canaanites that you've encouraged in your life. Remove the enemies of God around you otherwise you may never win over sin or living as God's child. Remember that removing them may means keeping yourself dipped deep into God's presence, fellowshipping, reading your Bible, Praying and Fasting instead of spending your time with those buddies of yours online and offline scoffing and spreading lies and pride of life (Psalms 1). Living as that tower of light raised to shine on the world! I pray to God to help us to be salt with savour in this world. When they see you, may they see Jesus. but unto Hannah he gave a worthy portion; for he loved Hannah: but the LORD had shut up her womb.
Good morning and praise God. I hope you're having a great day. Let's pray: Loving Father, thank you for this day and week. Speak to us we pray. Amen. Today we reflect on the life of Hannah the wife of Elkanah and cowife to Peninah. This woman really suffered for no good human known cause but unto fulfilment of God's plan to bring the greatest prophet Samuel into this world. Have you ever realized that challenges are what drove most of believers deep into seeking God? This is human nature and God knows it. Looking into the Bible we see that people that God greatly used passed through fiery fire like gold. Romans 5:3-5 reminds us this "Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us." When we persevere what God has allow us pass through, we grows a character that makes us useable to God in a way that out flesh and its pride cannot override. I encourage you to persevere through that challenge God has allowed in your life knowing it is to build you and not to destroy you. May God open your eyes to see beyond the pain but rather to building a deeper relationship with Him. See beyond the people like Peninah who might be used to cause you pain like how Hannah did it. Facing them might not work but facing God who called you will. Pray, read your Bible and fellowship amidst all what comes your way. God loves you, have a blessed day. Shalom. And when he had looked round about on them with anger, being grieved for the hardness of their hearts, he saith unto the man, Stretch forth thine hand. And he stretched it out: and his hand was restored whole as the other.
Good morning and praise God. I hope you are having a good day. Today we get our verse from the Gospel of Mark. One good think about this Gospel is that it the shortest but packed with doings of our LORD Jesus. In our verse today, Jesus is angry because of hardness of religious sect of his time. It is on a sabbath a day which these people enforced no work basing it on the fourth commandment of God. They're watching to see if Jesus would heal a man with a withered hand so they would get a reason to claim that Jesus Christ is a sinner. These people had literally taken and enslaved people with religious practices that didn't just disrespect dignity of life but deeply converted them into most hypocritical sect. They were like a well beautified grave. They were like gatekeepers who never got into God's presence and refused others from doing the same. We can see in this instant they ain't happy because someone health is being restored but rather revengeful and accusing like Satan himself who indeed was their father as noted by Jesus in John 8:44. Dear child of God, it is important to evaluate what religion you're in because you can be in such a sect like this one that angered our Savior while claimed they waited for Messiah (savior) and taught about it. They were blinded that they never recognized Savior but rather ended crucifying him. The light shone on them but they chose darkness so that their hypocritical lives would not be exposed! To be saved and walk with Jesus Christ you must heed to His teachings and humble yourself to be corrected and repent doing wrongs to others. You must love others and withhold your religion if that is what will harm anyone. Remember James 1:27 Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world. God loves you have a blessed day and weekend. Shalom. Then said his wise men and Zeresh his wife unto him, If Mordecai be of the seed of the Jews, before whom thou hast begun to fall, thou shalt not prevail against him, but shalt surely fall before him.
Good morning and praise God. I hope you're having a great day. Are you glad to be counted one of God's children? Haman was a man who chose to be child of the Devil. He listened to first bad advise by his own wife and friends. He wanted Mordecai to bow down to him but unfortunately even in captivity, Mordecai kept his reverence to God only and therefore wouldn't bow to a human being like Haman. Unlike Job, Haman followed bad counsel from his wife and friends who told him to prepare a pole where he would impale Mordecai the so presumed enemy of hid. He planned this at the wrong timing because Mordecai and his people Jews were in prayers and so Heaven was with them to save them. Actually, the big plans for Haman was to annihilate all people of God, the Jews. Knowing this, people of God prayed and fasted as they had been requested by queen Esther in order for her to face the king. She also knew it was only God who would save. My friend, prayer works. On that night when Haman's plans seemed to have succeeded, the king would not sleep! This was God at work to uplift his people and most importantly Mordecai the man despised by Haman. Mordecai had previously saved king from being executed and this had been recorded in book and forgotten until this night where God intervened. He made king lose sleep and reward him accordingly. Haman's evil plans began turning back to him just as Proverbs 26:27 says "Whoever digs a pit will fall into it; if someone rolls a stone, it will roll back on them." His wife and friends recognized he was fighting with "wrong people." God fights for His own and you cannot defeat them! Haman with all his pride and furry did everything to prepare his own death. He was impaled on his own pole! Mordecai and all Jews were uplifted and honored after this. Be happy that you're a child of God. Be glad to pray and trust God even when everything seems working against you. Be happy when they make you suffer because of Jesus Christ you trust! Your Savior lives! Set an ambush behind the town.”
Good morning and praise God. I hope you're having a great day. Let's pray: Almighty Father, King of all the glory, holy is your name. Speak to us we pray. Amen. Today we share from the interesting book of Joshua. One of main thing we learn in this book is all about is putting away fear, listening and following God's instructions. We see that walking with God is not a matter of 'once saved always saved' but rather remaining in Savior and Savior in us. We see Joshua victory against Jericho but then all of sudden defeat by Amalekites at Ai! In victory, a man called Achan sinned by disobeying God by stealing from plunder God had instructed to be completely destroyed. Thirty soldiers lost their lives! Joshua didn't know what was happening until he asked God. Later Achan is exposed through God's instructions; he, his family and all that belonged to him are stoned to death! A mob justice instructed by God. Do you see seriousness of seen in God's presence? Do you see need to obey and avoid intentional sins? Are you still there saying that you're too weak to overcome a certain sin knowing that for sure it is leading you to death? Joshua and his soldier then fight back Ai and this time they win and for Ai, God allows them to take plunder. See how listening to God works. His previous instructions might not be valid now. You need to keep listening step by step. You need to read your Bible and pray every day. Listen to God's still voice! Jesus taught in Matthew 9:17 NLT “And no one puts new wine into old wineskins. For the old skins would burst from the pressure, spilling the wine and ruining the skins. New wine is stored in new wineskins so that both are preserved.” Do you understand this? Each new day you need have open mindset to Holy Spirit lead! You cannot be just held to your past traditions and experiences. Each day is a new reason to listen and live in God's leading. Brethren, He who called you is faithful. His grace is sufficient for you but don't take that for granted and live recklessly and lazily. May God help you and me walk obediently with Jesus that our lives may be victorious. God loves you, have a blessed day and weekend. Shalom. - Daniel 5:25-28, 30 KJV And this is the writing that was written, MENE, MENE, TEKEL, UPHARSIN. This is the interpretation of the thing: MENE; God hath numbered thy kingdom, and finished it. TEKEL; Thou art weighed in the balances, and art found wanting. PERES; Thy kingdom is divided, and given to the Medes and Persians. In that night was Belshazzar the king of the Chaldeans slain.
Good morning and praise God. I hope you're having a great morning. Hallelujah! Today we look again at Belshazzar the son to Nebuchadnezzar. This is a man who decided to use temple's article in his feast. The Bible records "Daniel 5:3-4 KJV Then they brought the golden vessels that were taken out of the temple of the house of God which was at Jerusalem; and the king, and his princes, his wives, and his concubines, drank in them. They drank wine, and praised the gods of gold, and of silver, of brass, of iron, of wood, and of stone." He is a man who had witnessed God mighty work especially when his own father had sinned and punished by eating grass like wild ox for seven good years untill he bowed to God ! By the way , Babylon was a very powerful worldly kingdom that nobody thought would ever fall. This was all by God's plan so that they would be a weapon against unfaithful Israelites who had refused to repent. This son despite witnessing all doings of God decided to follow ways of his father and even make it worse. You can imagine taking church articles of worship to a club! Isn't such a direct insult to God ? We don't know how long this party had taken because these parties would last even six months but what we witness is God's wrath against evil. Daniel the servant of God had been forgotten and people of Babylon including Belshazzar felt they didn't need him. Even when they felt they needed him because anyway they knew he was man of God, they just wanted to hear what mene mene tekel upharsin mean but not to repent! Their hearts were not ready for salvation at all! All over the world we have witnessed similar behaviors where we think that our ways are God's way. We think we can confine God to our own understanding and sometimes even insult God directly through ignorance like this man because anyway God is so patient. God does not delight in death of an sinner. But it comes a time of God's wrath. At such time no prayer or intercession can save such persons. Let's not take grace of God for granted brothers and sisters. Just because your day of God's wrath hasn't come doesn't mean that God's wrath is too far. Maybe you're being weighed! Take care, repent, call them to repent. Remind them to repent when there's still time. 2 Peter 3:9-10 NLT The Lord isn’t really being slow about his promise, as some people think. No, he is being patient for your sake. He does not want anyone to be destroyed, but wants everyone to repent. But the day of the Lord will come as unexpectedly as a thief. Then the heavens will pass away with a terrible noise, and the very elements themselves will disappear in fire, and the earth and everything on it will be found to deserve judgment. God loves you, have a blessed day. Shalom. When Jesus came by, he looked up at Zacchaeus and called him by name. “Zacchaeus!” he said. “Quick, come down! I must be a guest in your home today.” But the people were displeased. “He has gone to be the guest of a notorious sinner,” they grumbled.Jesus responded, “Salvation has come to this home today, for this man has shown himself to be a true son of Abraham. For the Son of Man came to seek and save those who are lost.”
Good morning and praise God. Let's pray. Almighty God we bow before your presence this morning on adoration, worship and thanksgiving. Dear friends, Zacchaeus was a chief tax collector. He was despised by people and regarded by people of faith as a sinner. He would only dine with his fellow 'sinners' for people of faith didn't interact with 'sinners' like him. He collected tax but also practiced corruption just as the people of his career. Physically he was also a man of short stature. However, he once heard that Jesus was passing by and he ran, climbed a tree that he might see Jesus. I don't know how sinful you've been treated by people especially those of 'faith'. I remind you that there's no sinner that is beyond repair. John 3:16 For God so loved the world that He have His only begotten Son that whoever believes on Jim shall not perish but have eternal life. Jesus is not discriminational nor hateful, He is loving and Mighty Savior. Close your ears and eyes from people and seek Jesus. He will save you, restore you and graciously help you transform. “O Lord,” I prayed, “have mercy on me. Heal me, for I have sinned against you.” But my enemies say nothing but evil about me. “How soon will he die and be forgotten?” they ask. They visit me as if they were my friends, but all the while they gather gossip, and when they leave, they spread it everywhere.“He has some fatal disease,” they say. “He will never get out of that bed!” Even my best friend, the one I trusted completely, the one who shared my food, has turned against me.Praise the Lord, the God of Israel, who lives from everlasting to everlasting. Amen and amen!
Good morning and praise God. I hope you're having a blessed morning. Today we look into this prayer by David where he expresses himself to God after observing the hypocrisy of his friends whilst he suffered. This Psalm reflect exactly what happens to many children of God. Sometimes we wish that all people especially close friends were as good as we were to them but we have a problem because the enemy hides himself in those trust relationships we create. It is unfortunate that we have no power to make others different. However, David teaches a secret in this Psalm. All days of our we've got to worship God who lives from everlasting to everlasting. This present our Father as one who has no beginning or end. You can trust that God will always be with you even when you feel betrayed by closest friend. You can find peace and joy that transcends human mind in God's present. God is your loving Father and is ready to heal your wounds. You're invited and accept through your acceptance of Jesus Christ as your LORD and Savior. You're a child of God through Jesus Christ. It is not your work rest anyone would boast but rather His Grace which is sufficient for you no matter what you might be going though. Take a rest in His presence and pray Jeremiah 17:14 "Heal me, Lord, and I will be healed; save me and I will be saved, for you are the one I praise." God loves you, have a blessed day. Shalom. Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool. If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land: but if ye refuse and rebel, ye shall be devoured with the sword: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it.
Good morning and praise God. I hope you're having a good day. Let's pray: Almighty God, King of all glory, full of grace and mercy, we praise and glorify your holy name this wonderful morning. Thank you for loving us so much and reminding us that you've opened your arms to welcome us in your presence. Indeed LORD we've sinned against you as individuals, church and nation. We've brought upon ourselves suffering and pain through our disobedience. LORD of mercy forgive us, wash us clean in the Blood of the Lamb that was shed at Calvary. We are willing to obey you that we may enjoy our stay in our beautiful land of Kenya. Remove from us heart of stone that refuses to hear you and rebel leading us into attacks by the enemies. Restore peace , love and unity in our lives and society at large. Remove greed and materialism in our churches and leadership Father. Restore chastity in our households, in the lives of singles and every other person, old or young. Remind us that our bodies are your temple and should never be indulged in immorality of any kind but rather tamed to obey you through the help of Holy Spirit. Convict your people to repent and return to you not with their lips but from depth of their heart. Speak a blessing upon our lives and we shall be blessed. Speak favor upon our lives and we shall be favored. Like the lost Son we return home, tattered and dirty, not worthy Father but pleading for your mercies. Embrace us with your love, clean us Father and feed us on Bread of Heaven. Give us a new reason to celebrate and rejoice in your presence. Merciful Father, Sovereign God, our Creator and our all in all, we ask pray this believing and trusting in the name your Son Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. - Jeremiah 20:1-2, 9 NLT
Now Pashhur son of Immer, the priest in charge of the Temple of the Lord, heard what Jeremiah was prophesying. So he arrested Jeremiah the prophet and had him whipped and put in stocks at the Benjamin Gate of the Lord’s Temple. But if I say I’ll never mention the Lord or speak in his name, his word burns in my heart like a fire. It’s like a fire in my bones! I am worn out trying to hold it in! I can’t do it!
Good morning and praise God. I hope you're having a good day. There's this day I had just visited a fellowship and being the first time, I simply shared a verse. The members were all older than me. The following day, all members were not happy about me . One lady had the courage to face me admonishing me that I shouldn't use verses to rebuke them indirectly. By the way, these devotions have caused wars to me severally. Later I learned that those fellowship members had pushed one of their own to be fired because they didn't like her way of doing things and now the verse had sharply addressed that without my knowledge! In our extract today, Jeremiah is physically whipped for delivering God's message of an impending exile due to these people's sins. Jeremiah just like me and you wasn't happy about it. Infact, he felt that God was putting him in hot soup and leaving him there. Worst of it all, he couldn't help delivering God's messages to these people because it would burn in his heart like fire. He says it was like fire in his bones. One fact is that when God decide that you'll do an assignment, He will have a way to ensure you do it no matter how much you try to assume. He might smite you like Paul to change your whole life or mute you like Zechariah the father of John the Baptist! What must we do then? We must pray more, express ourselves more plainly to God, weep when you feel like, be real before God! Your main duty is to obey. You must pray for perseverance for that obedience to God may sometimes be disobedience to some! It might be seemingly shameful or outdated or even offensive. Your work is not to try and make it better but instead to just obey and deliver it. When they fight you, be assured that God who sent you with the message always won all battles and will win future and His mesage is true. I pray that the enemies of God's work will not make you give up or silent when you need to speak. God loves you, have a blessed day. Shalom.
