2 Samuel 7:1 BSB After the king had settled into his palace and the Lord had given him rest from all his enemies around him,
Good morning and praise God. I hope you are having a good day. Today we compare and contrast two first kings of Israel. The first was called Saul and the second was David. The book of 1 Samuel explains how Saul received the kingship without any struggles; in fact, he had just been looking for his father's lost donkeys. Yaani ilikuwa like kuangukia.Saul was like one born with a silver spoon in his hand. After all that he chose Hell through disobedience to God who had shown Him all that favor and kindness. On the other hand was David, he was despised at home and simply given the role of shepherd boy. When he was anointed to become a king in future, he was exposed to more challenges before Saul and his own friends.Saul wanted to kill him severally because he was jealous that he would become King instead of his own son Jonathan. His friends wanted to kill him because he had taken them to battle field but coming back they got their homes, properties and families rampaged by the enemy. In all these, David obeyed God. He failed in many instances but quickly repented, in short, he lived with his heart anchored to God. God gave him rest from all his enemies around him. Which of these two characters do you reflect in your life? Sometimes the same people God raised without struggles emerges to become enemies of God through disobedience. Like pampered kids, they end up becoming nothing and living through strain and strive that they wouldn't if only they obeyed the Father. Some of the challenges we complain so much about in life actually mold us to become steadfast in loving and obeying God. However, we shouldn't just be molded through wilderness like Israelites for years. We can choose to obey God and enjoy the peace and joy He gives His own even amidst calamities. You can choose this day to believe in what Jesus taught and get saved. Always remember that you cannot be look warm like how king Saul tried to be. You cannot deceive God the way you do to us human beings. He checks your heart not your physical appearance and not even the greatest anointed man of God can help you change your heart, only you can make that decision and enjoy His rest. May you make that decision to obey God that you may enjoy Hi rest. God loves you, have a blessed day. Shalom. Shalom.
