THE IMPORTANCE OF MORAL AND ETHICAL STANDARDS 1

A WORD FROM THE WORD:

"Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it'" Matthew 7:14, NKJV.

No matter how fast you travel on the wrong path, you can never get to the right direction; the fact that many people travel a particular path does not make it the right one to follow.
Most people are pathologically wired to travel on the paths of least resistance, but a wise person should be concerned about where the path leads. It is not altogether wrong to be fashionable as long as the *'fashion'* is predicated on sound and balanced moral and ethical standards of God's Word. People often make reference to the Scripture 'if our hearts do not condemn us, we have confidence before God' (1 John 3:21 NKJV), to justify their intentional (or in some cases, ignorant) choice of following the broad way, but there's something missing there, which is the question: is such heart aligned to God and His Word.

There's no alternative route to landing on the shores of pleasant eternity than following the narrow paths as admonished and recommended by the LORD Jesus Himself.

PRAYER BULLETS:

LORD Jesus, thank You for the light of Your word on my path. Help me to shun the broad and wide road which ultimately leads to destruction. Lead me by Your Spirit.

FURTHER READING:

Matthew 7:13-14; Psalm 119:105; Romans 12:2
