Hebrews 11:5 NIV By faith Enoch was taken from this life, so that he did not experience death: “He could not be found, because God had taken him away.” For before he was taken, he was commended as one who pleased God.
Good morning and praise God. From the Bible, We only have two people who did not experience death. First is Enoch and the other one is Elijah. The Bible has a long record about Elijah but for Enoch, this is what we have "Genesis 5:24 Enoch walked faithfully with God; then he was no more, because God took him away." I know there are Apocrypha books named after Enoch but those have too much hearsies and therefore we cannot read them as God's pure Word. The canonical Bible however tell us that Enoch walked faithfully with God and then he was no more because God took him away. Enoch is being commended for his faith and the unknown writer of Hebrew gives him as an example in this chapter where he talks about faith. Many a time believers lives by religion rituals while their faith dwindles . The results is discouragement because religion rituals will never connect us with God if all are done without faith. In fact, some of the religion rituals may deviate ones faith to fallacies of this world . Faith is an act of redefining our lives according to God's Word even without complete visible proof. Remember Abraham, he was commended as father of faith because he followed the call of God without questioning but rather obedience. A man like Zechariah who had religiously served in temple was struck dumb because he lacked faith that his wife Elizabeth, past child bearing age, would conceive and get a child. Mary however believed she would bear a son without a man and she was a virgin. How health is your faith life? If today we scraped off all religions rituals that you do everyday or every Sunday, would we find faith in you? Faith in Jesus Christ is what will save you from living a spiritually dead life and in the end grant you everlasting life in Heaven. I end with this verse Philippians 2:12 NIV "Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed—not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence—continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, " . God loves you have a blessed day. Shalom. Shalom.
