THE BLESSED HOPE FUELS A CHANGED LIFE
A WORD FROM THE WORD:
"If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am." John 14:3 NIV.
Towards the end of the LORD Jesus' earthly ministry (John chapter 13 - 17), He had cause to assure His disciples, and believers in His name in every generation of His second coming, as could be seen in our anchor text. But, Paul, the apostle, by the Holy Spirit's inspiration in book of 1 Thessalonians brought clarity to the worries and concerns of the Christians who had died believing in the Saviour. Paul refers to them as '...the believers who have died..' they will rise first, then followed by those who are alive at the voice of the archangel and with trumpet of God (1 Thessalonians 4:13; 16).
Paul's primary purpose by the Holy Spirit's inspiration was to comfort the Thessalonians in their grief and to teach about the rapture.
The word 'rapture' which means the state of being transferred from one place to another, especially with regards of catching up of believers by Christ at the time of His second coming. It is the 'blessed hope' of all believers in Christ Jesus.
And John, the beloved being inspired by the Holy Spirit writes to us that 'everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself, just as He is pure.' (1 John 3:3).
Would you dare to have this blessed hope and purify yourself as the LORD Jesus Himself is pure?
PRAYER BULLETS:
LORD Jesus, help me to be ready at all times, purify myself as I await Your return, to take me home.
FURTHER READING:
1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; 1 John 3:3.
