DEVOTION OVER 'BUSYNESS'

A WORD FROM THE WORD:

"There is only one thing worth being concerned about. Mary has discovered it, and it will not be taken away from her." Luke 10:42 NLT

You should and must be ready and prepared to preach the Gospel because it is the greatest commandment on earth to the believer in Christ Jesus. You cannot afford not to share this good news of God's Kingdom, not just with your words only, but in your actions and inactions as well.
The parable of the good Samaritan, simply put, entails that you should be empathetic and good to people, even those you must not necessarily know before seeking to be of help to them. Just being good can save a soul.

You must take time to refuel yourself spiritually. Don't get so busy that you'll be draining out and wouldn't know it. Discern the seasons rightly with the help of the Holy Spirit who has been given to you as a deposit on the inside, as that would be of great help in making spiritually informed discoveries and choices.
Mary was very discernible and chose a good part which 'will not be taken away from her.' Martha did well, but what she did wasn't meant for that time.

You will discover that, like Martha, you sometimes get upset especially when you think that what you are doing is right and helpers are not readily available to assist you. It might be right thing to do, but not the right time for it to be done.
There are times when we need to be quiet with the LORD and learn from Him. You can only choose right with God, His ways, and timing when the true discovery is made as you are helped by His Spirit.

Prioritising God's presence in your life and service, and your devotion to Him and His causes are more valuable than irrelevant 'busyfulness' in view of eternity.

PRAYER BULLETS:

LORD Jesus, I am very grateful for Your patience with me in my lack of discernment. Help me to always seek to discover and choose what You will have me do always instead of the carnal promptings of my mind.

FURTHER READING:

Luke 10:1-42; Psalm 37:4-6; Isaiah 55:8.
