TOPIC: RECHARGING YOUR SPIRITUAL BATTERY THROUGH FELLOWSHIP
ANCHOR SCRIPTURE: Mark 1:35 (KJV)
“And in the morning, rising up a great while before day, He went out, and departed into a solitary place, and there prayed.”
Devotional Message:
We have been looking at Jesus and what made Him live in authority and dominion while on earth. Today, we focus on one of His greatest secrets — a consistent life of fellowship and communion with the Father.
The Bible records that “very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus went to a solitary place to pray.” Before He embarked on His Father’s business of teaching the Word, healing the sick, casting out demons, opening blind eyes, raising the dead, and making the cripple walk, He first spent quality time in fellowship with God. His dependency and communion with the Father made His ministry so powerful, producing greater signs and wonders.
Even after ministering, when virtue had gone out of Him — as seen when the woman with the issue of blood touched Him — Jesus would retreat again to pray. Scripture records that He went up into the mountain and prayed all night. This shows that He understood the importance of recharging His spiritual battery before continuing with His divine assignment. It was this habit of fellowship that kept His spirit full and His ministry effective.
The same pattern was later embraced by His disciples. They also experienced mighty manifestations of God’s power because they gave themselves continually to prayer and the ministry of the Word (Acts 6:4).
Child of God, never allow the work of ministry or the busyness of life to take the place of personal fellowship with God. It is in that secret place that your spirit is refreshed, your anointing renewed, and your strength restored. Fellowship with God shows your humility and total dependency on Him. Without it, your strength will diminish, and your effectiveness in your assignment will fade.
Stay connected to the source — the secret of power is constant fellowship with the Father.
PRAYER:
Father, draw me deeper into Your presence. Teach me to prioritize fellowship with You above every assignment and activity. Recharge my spirit with Your power and renew my strength daily, that I may fulfill my divine mandate with excellence. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
