Galatians 3:13 NIV Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us, for it is written: “Cursed is everyone who is hung on a pole.”
Good morning and praise God. I hope you are having a good day. Let's us review something important that Jesus did for you and me. I believe you have read about parables of the lost sheep, coin and son. In all these, Jesus was creating an image of His main reason to leave the beauty of Heaven and come here on earth to die on the cross. When you read these, it is almost unrealistic expectations of the world. It is unexpected in this world that a child takes their inheritance by force from their father and then come back home and receive a welcome plus celebration. Jesus was talking about God's kingdom where all are welcome no matter what their past life was and whatever amount of sin they had committed to God our Maker. Looking at our traditions, the law to remove sin was harsh actions or punishments. In my own community, you would probably have to give blemishless goat for the least sin you committed. It would actually be more expensive if th one you had wronged was now dead. Thanks to Jesus Christ my LORD and Savior He died and resurrected and now lives forever like before. Curses in our traditions were and are expensive. However, joy and peace be to you who have put their hope in Jesus Christ. He died once and for all on that shameful cross at Calvary that all who looks to Him may no longer suffer shame. Jesus paid it all and so when He was about to die He said "it is finished." The only debt remaining for the rest of your life is to love. Romans 13:8. You can now fulfill all law through love. You do not pay your dowry and other traditional rights activities because you are in debt to do so but because you have a debt to love. You have a debt to love everyone even beyond your community just as God loved the world! You are set free from debt of sin so that through you God's love may reach another person. How I pray that we'll live realizing what God through Jesus Christ has accomplished for us. God loves you, have a blessed day. Shalom. Shalom.
