🕊 DOMINION DAILY DEVOTION ~ DAY 288
DATE: 15TH OCTOBER,2025
TOPIC: STAYING FREE FROM THE CAPTIVITY OF SIN
ANCHOR SCRIPTURE: Exodus 14:8 (KJV)
“And the LORD hardened the heart of Pharaoh king of Egypt, and he pursued after the children of Israel: and the children of Israel went out with a high hand.”
Devotional Message:
Sin is not merely an act — it is a personality, a spirit that desires to rule and dominate the life of a believer. The fact that you have conquered and broken free from the siege of immorality, pornography, fornication, masturbation, alcoholism, lies, gossip, slander, or drug addiction does not mean that the battle is over. The enemy will still come after you, seeking to reawaken those desires and drag you back into bondage.
In our anchor scripture, Pharaoh initially released the children of Israel from Egypt but later changed his mind and pursued them. This reveals the nature of the devil — he does not easily let go of those who were once under his captivity. He will always try to pull them back, to enslave them again, and to destroy their newfound freedom in Christ.
That is why as a believer, you must remain vigilant and spiritually alert. The enemy’s plan is to steal your devotion, weaken your prayer life, destroy your desire for the Word, and isolate you from the fellowship of believers. Once that happens, he gains access to plant the seeds of old habits and sinful desires once more.
Christianity is a battlefield, not a playground. The Apostle Paul reminds us to “fight the good fight of faith” (1 Timothy 6:12). To stay victorious, you must maintain consistency in prayer, fasting, Bible study, and meditation on the Word of God. Keep your mind occupied with godly thoughts, your spirit nourished with the Word, and your body disciplined through spiritual practices.
James 4:7 says, “Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” Resistance requires steadfastness and continual submission to God. The more you stay yielded to His Word and Spirit, the less room sin and its desires have in your life.
Stay connected to God through His Word, keep fellowship with brethren, and never give sin an opportunity to regain dominion over your life. Remember — the same God who delivered you will sustain you in victory if you remain rooted in Him.
PRAYER:
Father, thank You for delivering me from the bondage of sin. Help me to remain steadfast in prayer, strong in Your Word, and alert against every attempt of the enemy to draw me back into captivity. Strengthen me by Your Spirit to live in daily victory over sin and temptation. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
