🕊 DOMINION DAILY DEVOTION ~ DAY 290
DATE: 17TH OCTOBER,2025
TOPIC: DO IT AS UNTO THE LORD
ANCHOR SCRIPTURE: Colossians 3:23 (KJV)
“And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men.”
Devotional Message:
The Bible clearly teaches that whatever a man sows, that shall he also reap (Galatians 6:7). Notice that Scripture does not say where you will reap, but what you will reap. This means that your harvest may not always come from the same people or places where you sowed — yet God will make sure that you reap in due season if you faint not.
Apostle Paul, inspired by the Holy Spirit, urges us to do everything — whether praying, giving, serving, feeding the poor, showing hospitality, or helping others — as unto the Lord and not unto men. This is because men, even the ones we help, can easily forget or turn their backs on us. Friends, family, or relatives may disappoint you, but God never forgets a seed sown in righteousness.
The book of Proverbs says that “He who gives to the poor lends to the Lord, and He will repay him” (Proverbs 19:17). When you give, it is not the person you’re helping that owes you — it’s God. And He has a thousand ways to reward your faithfulness, even from unexpected sources.
In the Acts of the Apostles, we see Cornelius — a man whose prayers and generosity ascended as a memorial before God. His giving attracted divine visitation, and God sent Peter to his house with a life-changing message of salvation (Acts 10). Similarly, Dorcas, known for her acts of kindness, was raised back to life because of her generosity toward others (Acts 9:36–42).
Child of God, when those you have helped forget you or repay you with evil, don’t be discouraged or bitter. Rejoice, because God, who sees what you do in secret, will surely reward you openly. Keep your heart free from resentment and trust that your heavenly Father will honor your giving in His perfect time.
Let your motivation always be love and obedience to God, not the applause or appreciation of men. When you do this, your seed will speak for you in heaven, and your reward will come at the appointed time.
PRAYER:
Father, thank You for teaching me to do everything as unto You. Help me to serve, give, and love without expecting returns from men. Let my acts of generosity rise as a sweet memorial before You, and may my harvest come from You in ways beyond imagination. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
