🕊 DOMINION DAILY DEVOTION ~ DAY 291
DATE: 18TH OCTOBER,2025
TOPIC: DO NOT FORGET THE LORD YOUR GOD
ANCHOR SCRIPTURE: Deuteronomy 8:11 (KJV)
“Beware that thou forget not the LORD thy God, in not keeping his commandments, and his judgments, and his statutes, which I command thee this day.”
Devotional Message:

God, through His Word, warns us not to forget Him after He has blessed, lifted, and brought us into the Promised Land. There is a natural tendency in the heart of man to forget God once prayers have been answered and needs have been met. Sadly, many turn the very blessing God gave them into an idol — placing it above the One who gave it.

This tendency to forget is what births murmuring, complaints, and ingratitude. We see it clearly in the journey of the children of Israel, who quickly forgot the God who brought them out of Egypt with a mighty hand. They complained at every challenge, closing the door to divine manifestation and missing out on greater dimensions of God’s power and presence.

Many believers today still fall into the same pattern — remembering God only in times of trouble but neglecting Him when all seems well. This inconsistency robs us of continuous fellowship and denies us access to the fullness of His blessings.

One of the keys God has given us to remain in alignment with Him is praise. True praise is birthed from remembrance — when we recall all that the Lord has done and lift up gratitude that flows from personal encounters, not borrowed testimonies. Praise attracts His presence and sustains His move in our lives.

Child of God, learn to remember God in every season — in lack and in abundance, in sorrow and in joy. Make fellowship with Him a daily lifestyle, not a response to emergencies. As you do so, you will continually experience His presence, provision, and power at new levels.

PRAYER:

Father, forgive me for the times I have forgotten You after You blessed me. Help me to always remember Your goodness and to worship You in every season of my life. Let my heart overflow with gratitude, and may my praise continually attract Your presence. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
