🕊️ The Paraclete Truly, the Lord Jesus called the Holy Spirit "the Paraclete," meaning the Defender of humanity which was redeemed by the blood of the only Son, and He, the Holy Spirit, does not offer her the defence of lawyers in court and before judgment, but the defence of a Teacher and Guide; because the goodness and comfort of the Trinity is one goodness and one comfort for one Lord. Thus, the Comforter, who knows the depths of the soul, explains to her - like a tender teacher - the promises of God, reveals to her the mysteries of the heavenly life so that she may long for them and know them, and presents to her a pledge of this life so that she may live according to hope and freely leave the pleasures, lusts, and vanity of sin.
