FLEE !!!

The word “Flee” means to run swiftly away from danger, temptation, or anything that can cause destruction.

In the spiritual journey of a believer, there are times when the best wisdom is not to argue, fight, or test your strength—but to run.

Many Christians fall not because they don’t love God, but because they refuse to flee from things God told them to avoid.

Temptation is not a place to prove your spirituality; it’s a place to practice wisdom.

1 Corinthians 6:18 – “Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body.”

1. Flee from Sinful Desires

2 Timothy 2:22 – “Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.”

Sinful desires may look attractive, but they are deadly traps. The devil often disguises destruction as pleasure. God’s instruction is clear: don’t negotiate, don’t delay—flee!

Joseph fled from Potiphar’s wife, and though it cost him temporary suffering, it led to his divine promotion (Genesis 39:12–21).

2. Flee from Idolatry

1 Corinthians 10:14 – “Wherefore, my dearly beloved, flee from idolatry.”

Idolatry is not just bowing before carved images—it includes anything that takes God’s place in your heart: money, fame, career, even relationships.

Whatever competes with your devotion to God must be fled from.

A believer must choose loyalty to God over the comfort of this world.

3. Flee from Greed and the Love of Money

1 Timothy 6:9–11 – “But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.”

Greed has destroyed many destinies. The love of money is the root of all evil.

When you find yourself in a position where you must compromise your faith for material gain, remember—it is better to flee and lose a contract than to stay and lose your soul.

4. Flee from the Appearance of Evil

1 Thessalonians 5:22 – “Abstain from all appearance of evil.”
Sometimes, even if something is not directly sinful, the appearance alone can destroy your testimony.

As Christians, we must guard our reputation and conduct ourselves as ambassadors of Christ.

Joseph didn’t explain himself to Potiphar’s wife—he fled immediately. He valued purity above comfort.

5. Flee into the Arms of God

When you flee from sin, you must also flee to something — to God’s presence.

Psalm 91:1–2 – “He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.”

Running from temptation is good, but running to God in prayer, worship, and obedience completes your protection.

Fleeing is not weakness—it’s wisdom.

You cannot resist what you constantly entertain.

Your destiny is too valuable to be destroyed by temporary pleasure.

Fleeing today preserves your future tomorrow.

- Every believer must know when to fight and when to flee.

There are battles that are won by courage, and there are others that are won by escape.

When God says “Flee,” He is not depriving you—He is protecting you.

Remember: the distance you keep from temptation determines the distance you maintain with God.

Pray This Prayer

Lord, give me the wisdom to flee from every temptation.

I refuse to be trapped by lust, greed, or pride.

Lord, deliver me from every ungodly association.

I flee to Your presence, O Lord—keep me safe under Your shadow.

Strengthen me to say “NO” where I used to fall before.
