๐ DOMINION DAILY DEVOTION ~ DAY 297
DATE: 24TH OCTOBER, 2025
TOPIC: TRUE DELIVERANCE INCLUDES SEPARATION
ANCHOR SCRIPTURE: EXODUS 18:10–11 (KJV)
“And Jethro said, Blessed be the Lord, who hath delivered you out of the hand of the Egyptians, and out of the hand of Pharaoh, who hath delivered the people from under the hand of the Egyptians.”
Devotional Message:
My heart was deeply stirred by a lesson the Holy Spirit showed me while reading Exodus 18. He began to open my eyes to something powerful and personal that every believer must embrace. The Bible records that Jethro told Moses Blessed be the Lord who had delivered the Israelites from Egypt — from the hand of the Egyptians and from the hand of Pharaoh.
Egypt represents the world — a system ruled by darkness. Pharaoh symbolizes the enemy, Satan, the ruler of that dark system. The Egyptians represent those who dwell under that influence, living by worldly patterns and desires.
If such people are allowed to have a major influence in your life, there’s a real danger of being pulled back into what God already delivered you from. That’s why Scripture warns of “returning to one’s vomit” (2 Peter 2:22). When God saves a person, He doesn’t just bring them out of sin — He also separates them from the influences that can lead them back there. He does this so that the heart may remain fully His, free from the enemy’s grip.
Many believers struggle to let go of certain relationships, friendships, or environments, fearing loneliness. Yet, true deliverance includes separation. When I began walking with God consistently and His fruit started manifesting in my life, I lost many friends. But I counted it all joy, because I knew Jesus had a purpose in that separation. Sometimes, isolation is preparation for elevation.
Remember, iron sharpens iron (Proverbs 27:17), and bad company corrupts good morals (1 Corinthians 15:33). The more you remain in Egypt — in worldly associations and influences — the greater your chances of falling back into old patterns.
Isaiah experienced a similar revelation. He confessed, “I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell among a people of unclean lips” (Isaiah 6:5). It was then that God purified his lips and commissioned him. Likewise, God separates you from certain environments so that you won’t be contaminated again, but rather become His battle axe — a vessel through which He can bring deliverance and transformation.
PRAYER:
Lord, thank You for delivering me from the world and from the grip of the enemy. Help me to embrace divine separation, to let go of anything and anyone that hinders my walk with You. Make me Your battle axe, sharpened and ready for Your use. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
