Trust - God has ordained our steps

James 1:2-12 "My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing. If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God , who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways."

Psalms 37:22-23 "For those blessed by Him shall inherit the earth, but those cursed by Him shall be cut off. The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord, and He delights in his way."

When we are trusting God, we are believing that God is going to do what He said He will do in His Word - ALL OF IT, and not some of it or part of it but ALL OF IT. While this does assure us a type of peace and love that surpasses human understanding, it doesn't omit us from the same experiences of suffering that every other human will too encounter and, truthfully, it's better that way. James, is telling us that we will go through that but when we count it joy while in the midst of it all, we will mature in faith and be complete lacking nothing. I pray that the Lord remove the blinders from our eyes that keeps us from seeing Him as He is - Trustworthy God.

Ask yourself today, how does the belief that God ordains my steps influence my perspective on life's event and decisions? How does it affect my understanding of your understanding of God's sovereignty in all aspects of your life? How does the concept of trusting God, even amidst suffering and trials align with your understanding of faith?

May the Shalom of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you now and always!!!
