UNITY IN DIVERSITY WITHIN THE BODY OF CHRIST

A WORD FROM THE WORD:

"For as the body is one and has many members, but all the members of that one body, being many, are one body, so also is Christ. For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body... and have all been made to drink into one Spirit. For in fact the body is not one member but many. If the foot should say, “Because I am not a hand, I am not of the body,” is it therefore not of the body? And if the ear should say, “Because I am not an eye, I am not of the body,” is it therefore not of the body? If the whole body were an eye, where would be the hearing? If the whole were hearing, where would be the smelling? But now indeed there are many members, yet one body. And the eye cannot say to the hand, “I have no need of you”; nor again the head to the feet, “I have no need of you.” No, much rather, those members of the body which seem to be weaker are necessary. And those members of the body which we think to be less honorable, on these we bestow greater honor; and our unpresentable parts have greater modesty, but our presentable parts have no need. But God composed the body, having given greater honor to that part which lacks it, that there should be no schism in the body, but that the members should have the same care for one another." 1 Corinthians 12:-26 NKJV

Each one of us has something to offer to the other person, the community or the society at large and this comes either in a positive or negative way.
We would be a formidable force that cannot be conquered if we choose to understand and harness our differences and individualities.

God loves the world, not just the Christians but also the unbelievers (John 3:16) and He desires that they receive LORD Jesus as their Saviour in repentance and ultimately spend eternity with Him. (2 Peter 3:9)

We are so gifted and unique in various ways, someone is tall in height and other short, someone has outward beauty, the other ugly, someone is quick tempered, the other slow tempered etc.

Think about a couple where one is taller than the other, whenever there's something to be brought down from the height, the taller partner goes for it, likewise, whenever there's something to be fetched from the base, the other partner fetches it with ease.

When we understand that our gifts, skills and abilities, be they natural or spiritual are tailored by the Creator, our Father to be complementary to, and that of others, to His glory and benefits of humankind, then we would definitely be more eager to complement and serve others, and less proud of who we are, and our achievements.

PRAYER BULLETS:

Father LORD, help me to use my gifts, skills and abilities for the very purpose I was gifted with them.

Acts 17:26; Romans 15:1; 15:5-7.
