Mark 9:29 NKJV So He said to them, “This kind can come out by nothing but prayer and fasting.”

Good morning and praise God. I hope you're having a great Monday morning. Have you ever tried to change a situation but you lacked power to do so though you had the insight? It happened to Jesus' disciples. A boy was brought to them to be delivered from this mute spirit. They couldn't cast it out. Jesus later rebuked them attributing the failure to their lack of faith. You know, at that time, Jesus was always physically with them but He knew He would soon leave them to continue with ministry after He had accomplished His main mission by dying for the sins of mankind on the cross. After that, they would have to trust in the Holy Spirit through faith. In our verse of the day, we are directed to how we can receive insight and power. It is through prayer and fasting! Probably you already have insight on what is troubling you and knows that Jesus is with you. The only lacking thing is the power to make the change required. This power we are promised we can receive it by going beyond praying to fasting. Fasting weakens the flesh so that inner person may gain strength without interruptions of the flesh that only focuses on things of this world. It is a challenge for us that we need to action our faith to a notch higher in order to receive power that will drive away some mute and dumb situations that may have made you look like you didn't have faith. Our Lord and Savior Jesus may not be physically visible but He allowed it that way because now His presence with is is not limited through the Holy Spirit. Take a moment to pray and talk with Him now. Skip that meal and use that time to speak with Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly and above all we can think or imagine.
