๐Ÿ•Š DOMINION DAILY DEVOTION ~ DAY 308
DATE: 4TH NOVEMBER, 2025
TOPIC: OBEDIENCE IS BETTER THAN SACRIFICE
ANCHOR SCRIPTURE: Leviticus 8:4–5 (KJV)
And Moses did as the LORD commanded him; and the assembly was gathered together unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation. And Moses said unto the congregation, This is the thing which the LORD commanded to be done.
DEVOTIONAL MESSAGE:

Today, many people will tell you how much they know God and love Him. They read their Bibles, attend church, and do things that seem right in their own eyes — yet they lack obedience to God. Obedience, though not always easy, is the greatest expression of love and submission to God’s authority. Many pray, “Lord, let Your will be done,” but when God reveals that will, they fail to act because of disobedience.

In our anchor text, we see the obedience of Moses — “And Moses did as the Lord commanded him.” Moses’ obedience was public and complete. He never argued with God’s instruction, and this obedience was one of the reasons God loved him deeply and answered his prayers. Obedience, therefore, becomes the foundation upon which divine favor rests.

In 1 Samuel 15:22–23, the prophet Samuel rebuked Saul, saying:“Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams.”Saul had been sent by God to utterly destroy the Amalekites and all they possessed. However, he spared King Agag and the best of the livestock under the pretense of offering them as sacrifices to God. This act of partial obedience cost him everything — his kingship, his divine favor, and his future. Saul’s incomplete obedience was rebellion, which God likened to witchcraft.

Beloved, obedience is precious in the sight of God — more than burnt offerings or sacrifices. Moses obeyed and was exalted, but Saul disobeyed and was rejected. Obedience attracts divine blessings, favor, and God’s continuous presence, while disobedience invites shame, rejection, and the wrath of God.

If you choose to obey today, there is nothing good that God will withhold from you. You will become as the apple of His eye, as David was — a man after God’s heart. But if you choose rebellion, even your sacrifice will not please Him. The Lord seeks men and women who will hear and do His word. Therefore, brethren, do not rebel against God’s voice. Don’t let Him replace you as He replaced Saul. Be like Moses — quick to obey, faithful to act, and humble to follow.

PRAYER:

Father, give me a heart that obeys You completely. Deliver me from rebellion, pride, and self-will. Help me to walk in total obedience to Your Word, that I may find favor before You always. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
