A Muslim-majority nation, where Islam is the state religion, has now enforced a mandatory Sunday shutdown of all commercial activity to fight deadly smog. From The News International (Pakistan): • “The Lahore High Court imposed a complete ban on all commercial activities every Sunday…” • “Strict enforcement” was ordered for the whole city. • Lahore was declared the most polluted city in the world that week. In a city where Friday is sacred, and where Christianity is not the cultural influence, Sunday is suddenly the chosen day of rest — not for worship, but for health, climate, and public protection. 🌍 Muslim-language reporting in Pakistan framed this as: • Hifazat (protection) • Behtari (improvement) • Saaf hawa (clean air) In short: Sunday is being accepted without any religious motivation at all — simply as a societal necessity.
