1. Morning Prayer

Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not. ⏤ 1 John 3:1

We are all missionaries. Wherever we go we either bring people nearer to Christ or we repel them from Christ. ⏤ Eric Liddell

O God, we are grateful that we are Your children. We are not just Your creations. You made the stars, the birds, and the flowers, but unlike them, You made us in Your own image and gave us immortal souls. We thank You for the special place we hold in creation. Help us to live up to the dignity of being Your children and to live as Your children should.

You created us with a purpose. You have a plan for each of our lives—something You intend for us to be and to do. We want to fulfill Your purpose for us. Help us to accept Your will and to do what You would have us do. As we go out into the world this morning, guide us in the path You have set for us. We want to serve our generation. Show us what You would have us do and enable us to do it.

Fill our hearts with Your love so that we may see the world as You see it. May we look upon others with Your compassion, patience, and a desire to help. Though our efforts may seem small in this vast world, help us to trust that no true work done for You is ever in vain. Help us to make our little corner of the world holier, brighter, sweeter, and happier. Help us to live out Your life in the place You have assigned us, serving those around us. In this way, we shall be a blessing to our small part of the world.

Give us a day filled with Your love and grace, our Father. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

2. MORNING TEA. THE WORD FOR TODAY
MONDAY NOVEMBER 10, 2025.
"RECOGNISING AND WALKING IN GOD’S WILL (5)"

‘I seek not to please Myself but Him who sent Me.’ John 5:30 NIV

WHEN THE light turns green, go! If you’re in sales, it’s crucial to know when to close the deal. Beginners often lose sales by ‘overselling’. They present their product and demonstrate how it meets their client’s needs. It’s priced right and the customer is ready to purchase, but the novice keeps on ‘selling’ until the customer becomes suspicious of his pitch and he loses the sale. Knowing when to ‘close’ is essential. Accurate aim is important, but you must know when to pull the trigger. Trust the steps you’ve taken and move forward; otherwise you’ll get stuck in a cycle of second-guessing. At some point in your search for God’s will, you must take that decisive and often intimidating next step. All your studying, praying, discussing, researching, checking and rechecking are fruitless if you don’t act. All the faith in the world will fail you if you stop short of doing something (James 2:17-18). Here’s a last-minute test: 1) Have you submitted your will to God? 2) Are you faithfully serving where He appointed you? 3) Are you willing to do what He reveals? 4) Have you received and believed the Spirit’s promptings? 5) Are you trusting in His power to fulfil His directions? How did you do? Did you pass? Then it’s time to move forward! Don’t wait until you feel fearless. Take that first, fearful step. Act your way into boldness, and fear will lose its ability to control or paralyse you. When the light turns green, God’s resources are available for your assignment. Now’s the time to move!

*GENERATIONAL FAITHFULNESS OF GOD*

*TEXT:* PSALM 89:1-4.

1.I will sing of the mercies of the LORD for ever: with my mouth will I make known thy faithfulness to all generations.
2 For I have said, Mercy shall be built up for ever: thy faithfulness shalt thou establish in the very heavens.
3 I have made a covenant with my chosen, I have sworn unto David my servant,
4 Thy seed will I establish for ever, and build up thy throne to all generations. Selah.

*Timeless Truth:*_"God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?"_ (Numbers 23:19).

*INTRODUCTION*

When God wants to show His care, love and mercy to someone, He gives the person His promises. When a person pleases God through tested obedience and consecration He makes a covenant with such a person. God made a covenant with Abraham and of which his children are beneficiary. God made a promise of the kingship dynasty for Saul, but it was never fulfilled due to Saul's disobediencel. *"...for now would the LORD have established thy kingdom upon Israel for ever. But now thy kingdom shall not continue: the LORD hath sought him a man after his own heart"* (1 Samuel 13:13, 14). The case of David was different. There was a pronouncement of covenant with David in 2 Samuel 7. The psalmist, Ethan the Ezrathite, was called a wise person and put almost at par in terms of wisdom with Solomon, but Solomon was wiser (1 Kings 4:31). The deep reflections of this famous wise man cum accomplished and skillful musician had something important to say about God's faithfulness to the Davidic Covenant and by extension to all the Covenants God makes with any man on earth. The culmination of all divine covenants in the New Testament for which every child of God is fortunate to be included.

*1. God's Constancy*

a. The covenant that God made with David was to make his descendants perpetually rule over Israel. It was given to David by mercy and not by merit. It is often referred to as the sure mercies of David in several passages of the Scriptures. *"....And I will make an everlasting covenant with you, even the sure mercies of David"* ( Read Isaiah 55:3, 2 Chronicles 6:42, Acts 13:34 among others). No finite mind is qualified to come into covenant with an infinite and perfect God except by mercy. Were it not for the mercy of God, didn't Abraham disappoint God in some areas until God told him to *"walk before me and be thou perfect?"*. What of David too? Was he perfect? God made a covenant with him by mercy. Once the mercy of God to David had been established and confirmed, it generated different songs in praise of God. This grace of God in showing mercy was turned into a song by this wise and anointed psalmist. *"I will sing of the mercies of the LORD for ever"*. He also believed that his praise of God which he penned down and sang would transcend generations. *"With my mouth will I make known thy faithfulness to all generations"*.
b. Some men may not find it easy to comprehend the faithfulness of God because they are used to men breaking their promises and covenants. But the faithfulness of God is settled in all generations. It may be very difficult to get a better prophetic acclamation of the faithfulness of God to His Word and covenant than what came out prophetically from the mount of Balaam.
*"God is not a man, that he should lie"*. He has never lied and does not lie. *"Neither the son of man, that he should repent"*. Once it is a covenant, and the conditions are made, God remains faithful to it. He further asked some probing questions. *"Hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?"* (Numbers 23:19). The godly should be well assured that once a covenant proceeds from the mouth of the Lord, it is forever settled. The immutability of God gave us the assurance that the promises of God are trustworthy. *"Thou are the same, thou changeth not and thy years shall have no end"*. The fact that you have a temporary moral failure like David does not cancel the promises God gave you once you repent and set your heart right with God. *"The gift and the calling of God are without repentance"*. Any lost promise, promotion, purpose or prosperity can be received by genuine repentance and serious importunate prayers. God will be delighted to answer because His answer is proof of His faithfulness that God is not a man that He should lie. His faithfulness is not only earth bound, the same is true in heaven. *"Thy faithfulness shalt thou establish in the very heavens"* .

*Question*

Are you prepared to sing of the faithfulness of God to your generations by all avenues and platforms available?

*2. Generational Covenant*

a. God's promises may end with the immediate recipients. As soon the recipient dies, the promises may die with him. The promises and the blessings for Job ended with him and his children otherwise we would still be talking of the children of Job today. Jabez prayed earnestly for a change of status and was specially blessed by God. His blessings were not transferable to his children. The same with Samuel, Moses, etc. However, covenants are deeper and higher. The fulfilment may be generational. The covenant may still be working in the lives of generations that followed the death of the first or primary recipients. Such was the covenant with David. *"I have made a covenant with my chosen, I have sworn unto David my servant"*. It was back up with an oath. *"Thy seed will I establish for ever"*. Since it is forever, it could not be Solomon because Solomon did not live on earth forever. It is referring to a special seed of David that will sit on the throne of David Jesus, the Son of David. *"And build up thy throne to all generations"*. The throne of David at present is suspended till after the Church age when the throne of David will be raised up at the Second Coming of Christ and the King of kings will reign for ever and ever.
b. The challenging thing about this faithful God is that every saint can live a life so pleasing to God that God will be moved to have a covenant with him and this covenant will still be speaking after the death of the first recipient. A case is Noah. There are those who receive covenant of prosperity that still speaks after the covenanted is long dead as a result of their uncommon and sacrificial giving. The same with the covenant of protections, power, longevity, etc.

*Question*

Are you striving to live the life that so pleases and impresses God to the point of receiving generational covenants?

*3. Grace Covenant*

Glory be to God there is a covenant of God that every willing and wise person can key into. It is called the grace covenant. It is in contrast to the Mosaic Covenant where salvation was by good works and by keeping to the Law of Moses, both moral and ceremonial. *"For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ"* (John 1:17). It is the grace covenant that is under the priesthood of Jesus Christ. It is also called the New Covenant or Testament, and the conditions for being part of the beneficiaries of the New Testament are all written in the gospels and the epistles. The New Covenant says, *"As many as received Christ to them he gave power to be called children of God"* (John 1:12). This is the most powerful and most profitable covenant ever that any mortal on earth can have with God. This covenant guarantees that all those who receive Christ as Lord and Saviour are no more servants or slaves to sin, but are now sons of God. For those who key into this covenant by repentance and faith in the Lord Jesus, their sins are totally forgiven and they have become saints. The covenant has all the promises in the New Testament available for them and they are encouraged to claim them as a matter of right and privilege. The covenant is sealed by the blood of Jesus. Jesus said in Luke 22:20, *"This cup is the new testament in my blood, which is shed for you"*. It is called the covenant of grace because it gives you grace to overcome all sins and live righteously once you subscribe to it by giving your life to Jesus.

*Question*

Have you submitted to this greatest of all covenants that God ever has with man?

*Prayer Points*

1.Give praises to God that He is a faithful and trustworthy Covenant Keeper .
2.Ask God that you are hereby keying into the New Covenant. Ask Him to cleanse your heart from all sins and make you a true child of His .
3.Pray that you will have abundant grace to be faithful to God and His Word in return .
4.Ask that the power and the provisions of the New Covenant will manifest more and more in the lives of God's children .

*HYMN:* Great is thy faithfulness
