Good evening, brethren.
1. Our evening prayer focuses on "Gratitue for God’s blessings."
2. Do you usually wait for what God has not given us?
3. Do you k ow that the Holy Spirit is all divine?
4. Do you know what to do when you are anxious?
To know more, read the message below:
1. Evening Prayer
Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning. ⏤ James 1:17
Gratitude bestows reverence, allowing us to encounter everyday epiphanies. ⏤ John Milton
Lord, we humbly come before You, asking that You hear our prayers, our confession, our requests, and our praise, which we offer to You through Jesus Christ our Lord. We have gone astray and wandered from Your ways, like lost sheep. We have followed too much the desires of our own hearts. We have broken Your holy laws. We have left undone the things we should have done and have done things we should not have done. There is nothing good in us. But You, O Lord, have mercy on us as miserable offenders, and for Jesus' sake, give us the grace to turn away from every evil path and to live in a way that brings glory to Your holy name.
What can we give You, O Giver of all good things, for Your kindness to us as a family? We thank You for the comforts of our home, for the opportunities we have for learning, for our health and happiness, for prosperity, and for all the blessings of Your providence, including the love that unites us as a family.
Help us, O Father, to live in a way that is worthy of all Your favors and gracious kindness. May our hearts be filled with love and gratitude. May our lips speak Your praise. May our lives truly reflect the gratitude we feel.
Sanctify all the blessings of this day. Bless the preaching of Your Word and all the services in which we participated. May Your blessing follow all the work of Your people today in every church and Sunday school. Now grant us restful and refreshing sleep, and may the blessings of this Sunday carry us through the new week. We ask this in Jesus Christ. Amen.

Wanting What God Has Not Given Us – (Proverbs 30:21-23)
Wanting What God Has Not Given Us – (Proverbs 30:21-23)
Daily Proverbs
For three things the earth is perturbed, yes, for four it cannot bear up: for a servant when he reigns, a fool when he is filled with food, hateful woman when she is married, and a maidservant who succeeds her mistress.
Daily Bible Study
Part of our sin nature is we want things that God has not given us, whether that's material possessions, wealth, title or prestige. Our sin nature can cause us to crave after things we are neither prepared to handle, nor deserve to have, and have not earned. Moreover, we have to recognize that this dark world in which we live promotes this type of thinking. It promotes the striving after things we do not need, we have not earned and the things which God has not given us. And when that happens the consequences are usually bad for everyone involved! And that's the heart of the message of these passages.
We also suffer when we get something we're not ready for, cannot handle, or something we really did not deserve. When that happens, it can bring more stress, bickering and chaos into our lives because it was received through our rebellion toward God and because we cannot adequately handle the position, which we are ill-equipped to occupy. And this is what Agur is speaking about in the passages above. Those times when we seek after things God has not given us. Those times when our sin nature causes us to use dishonesty and the immoral tactics of this fallen world to gain what we have not yet earned. Doing so for no other reasons than covetousness, pride, ego or out of spite for others.

Holy Spirit, All Divine
I wonder if any Christian can ever show forth the transforming radiance of the love of God without a complete surrender to the indwelling Person of the Holy Spirit? Surely that was in the mind of the songwriter, as he prayed and sang “Holy Ghost, with light divine, Shine upon this heart of mine. Chase the shades of night away, Turn my darkness into day. Holy Spirit, all divine, Dwell within this heart of mine. Cast down every idol throne; Reign supreme and reign alone.” Our world is filled with hatred and conflict, violence and bloodshed. Through the plan of redemption God has dealt graciously with this global problem of hatred in the hearts of men and women. He has sent the source of love and light and radiance to the human bosom; Paul himself testified: “The love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost, which is given to us” (Romans 5:5).
Verse
It is the Spirit that beareth witness, because the Spirit is truth. 1 John 5:6
Thought
God has sent the source of love and light and radiance to the human bosom.
Prayer
Lord, thank You so much for the light that is Jesus. I pray Your Holy Spirit will minister to me today in order to empower me for Your service.

4. When I Am Anxious.
. . . casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you. (1 Peter 5:7)
There is a promise suited to every sin you are tempted to commit and every form of unbelief that takes you off guard and makes you anxious. For example:
When I am anxious about being sick, I battle unbelief with the promise, “Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all” (Psalm 34:19). And I take the promise with trembling, “knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us” (Romans 5:3–5).
When I am anxious about getting old, I battle unbelief with the promise: “Even to your old age I am he, and to gray hairs I will carry you. I have made, and I will bear; I will carry and will save” (Isaiah 46:4).
When I am anxious about dying, I battle unbelief with the promise that “none of us lives to himself, and none of us dies to himself. For if we live, we live to the Lord, and if we die, we die to the Lord. So then, whether we live or whether we die, we are the Lord’s. For to this end Christ died and lived again, that he might be Lord both of the dead and of the living” (Romans 14:7–9).
When I am anxious that I may make shipwreck of faith and fall away from God, I battle unbelief with the promises, “He who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ” (Philippians 1:6); and, “He is able to save to the uttermost those who draw near to God through him, since he always lives to make intercession for them” (Hebrews 7:25).
So, let us make war, not with other people, but with our own unbelief. It is the root of anxiety, which, in turn, is the root of so many other sins.
So, let us fix our eyes on the precious and very great promises of God. Take up the Bible, ask the Holy Spirit for help, lay the promises up in your heart, and fight the good fight — to live by faith in future grace.
