Greetings in the name of the Lord!
Since I've (so far) received friend requests from people I don't know, I need to list some rules regarding my usage of social media. I don’t mean to sound harsh and unfriendly, but my time online must be kept to a minimum so I can focus more on prayer, studying the Bible, and fulfilling the Great Commission.
1) I cannot stop what I’m doing every time someone wants to chat. Usually, I limit online conversations to my closest friends. If you’re seeking prayer or personal counsel, I suggest talking with a pastor or elder at your home church.
2) I decline all group invitations. Fan pages will be “liked” if I’m familiar with (and have a serious interest in) the person or organization being promoted.
3) I will not forward chain letters and other posts urging me to “like”, “share”, or “pass it on.”
4) I ask not to be tagged in posts unless my image appears in it.
5) Comments irrelevant to my posts shall be removed. Ministers should not use another’s Facebook page as a platform to promote their ministries. Romans 15:20 says we are not to “…build on another man’s foundation.”
6) Last but not least, I do not give donations in response to unsolicited emails. Christians need to look to God as their source instead of specific people. (Psalm 37:25, Philippians 4:19)
Anyone wanting to contact me for other reasons such as scheduling an evangelistic outreach may send a message through email. Click on the “About T. R.” link on my website for more information.
Thank you for your cooperation and understanding. :)
In Christ,
Todd R. Post
