Good morning, brethren.

1. Do you pray in the morning? Our morning prayer focuses on "Pressing onward with endurance."
2. Do you know the price of legacy building?
3. Do you know that everybody is a priceless treasure?
4. Are you weak but strong?
To know more, read the message below:

1. Morning Prayer

Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but Manikya Kumar one thing [I do,] forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. ⏤ Philippians 3:13-14

Prayer is the acid test of devotion. ⏤ Samuel Chadwick

O Lord, You’ve taught us through Your apostle to forget what lies behind and to reach forward to what lies ahead. Give us the grace to let go of the past and press on toward the goal of our high calling. Help us to cast aside every weight and the sins that so easily trip us up, and to run with endurance the race set before us, keeping our eyes on Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith.

This world pulls us back, holding us from aspiring heavenward. May we have the strength to resist these earthly temptations and instead be drawn toward the blessings of a heavenly life. Help us to live more and more for the things that are unseen and eternal. Earthly things, though sweet and beautiful, are temporary—like flowers that are fragrant today but wilted tomorrow. May these fleeting blessings remind us of You and turn our thoughts to You. Let us not rest in these temporary joys or build our hopes on them. Instead, teach us to rest in You and build our hopes on the enduring rock of Your eternity. Then, no matter what earthly disaster or loss comes our way, we will be safe and secure in You, our unchanging God.

As we step into the world today, fill our hearts with thoughts of Your love and grace. Go before us, lead us, and help us follow You wherever You guide. Give us wisdom to respond rightly in every situation. Grant us courage to face difficulties and overcome obstacles. And give us gentle hearts so we may be a blessing to others. We ask all this in the name of Jesus. Amen.

*THE PRICE OF LEGACY BUILDING*

*TEXT:* NEHEMIAH 4:21-23.

21 So we laboured in the work: and half of them held the spears from the rising of the morning till the stars appeared.
22 Likewise at the same time said I unto the people, Let every one with his servant lodge within Jerusalem, that in the night they may be a guard to us, and labour on the day.
23 So neither I, nor my brethren, nor my servants, nor the men of the guard which followed me, none of us put off our clothes, saving that every one put them off for washing

*Timeless Truth:*_"And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it"_ (Matthew 16:18).

*INTRODUCTION*

Legacy building is the intentional process of creating something that has a lasting, positive impact beyond one's own life. It encompasses a wide range of efforts, from leaving tangible assets like a business or financial trust, to intangible contributions such as passing down knowledge, values, and traditions. It's about creating something that outlasts you and can improve the future for generations to come.
The wall of Jerusalem built by Nehemiah was a legacy project. The initial one that was destroyed by the Babylonians remained in ruins for 114 years. The Nehemiah legacy building was rebuilt in an astoundingly short period of 52 days and was completed in BC 444, 25th of Elul or 12th month of their civil year. Archaeological evidence indicates that although the original construction was quick and the stones were roughly pieced together, the wall has endured for millennia. While aspiring young people are after success, the wise aging people are interested in legacy projects and buildings that will outlive them. There is a price to pay for legacy buildings.

*1. Labouring in the Work*

a. The short 52 days spent on the legacy wall was very demanding for the workers. It did not work for the sick and the lazy. They had to put in all their strength and burn the candles at both ends. In short, it was work meant only for men with stamina. *"So we laboured in the work"*. The labour involved working hard and putting in great efforts. It was not a pleasurable experience as *"half of them held the spears from the rising of the morning till the stars appeared"*. This shows that the builders worked from morning till the stars appeared every day. There is a debate on whether it is smart work or hard work that is better today. Both of them are to be combined for legacy projects. Smart work involves using strategy and efficiency to achieve goals with minimal effort, while hard work relies on long hours and perseverance. The most effective approach is often a combination of both: using smart strategies to focus your hard work where it's most impactful. Most of the inventions and breakthroughs people are enjoying now as legacy projects were borne out of long hours of research and persistent activities. There is no alternative to hard work. The labour of Nehemiah was filled with distractions, threats, discomfort, inadequate sleep, bitter oppositions, ridicules etc. In one word, the environment was unfriendly. Yet they made sure that they concentrated and focused on the project before they could deliver at the shortest time possible. There is always a price to pay for legacy projects and it must be paid no matter how unfriendly the environment may be.
b. The greatest and the most durable building that is being built now has taken over 2000 years and is not yet completed. Which building is that? *"And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it"* (Matthew 16:18). The mystic Body of Christ, which is the living Church or assembly of all those who are saved in Christ is being built by Christ Himself with believers as His co-labourers. The Church will be raptured and be with Christ for eternity. It is the greatest legacy project that only Christ can build. There is a price to pay. It cost Jesus His very blood and life, and any one who will join Him in the building must be willing to pay the *"prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus"*.

*Question*

What part are you playing in building the Body of Christ? How hardworking are you in the project?

*2. Lodging with Wisdom*

a. Nehemiah was strategic as to the best place people should lodge while the work was on going. *"Likewise at the same time said I unto the people, Let every one with his servant lodge within Jerusalem, that in the night they may be a guard to us, and labour on the day"*. He was very security conscious. He projected and planned against any form of loss of life or avoidable injuries because any of that would reduce effectiveness and might hinder the project from being completed on time. It was a way of doing away with distraction. Nehemiah was too wise for that kind of carelessness that would slow down the tempo of the work.
b. Believers today are expected to be involved in the service of God. It will be carelessness and lack of obedience that when Christ is busy building His Church any believer is idle and is not willing to pay the price for whatever reason. In the book of Nehemiah, most of the people were actively and wholeheartedly involved under the command of Nehemiah. Under the command of Jesus, everyone must be serving the Lord. The work of a believer, like that of Nehemiah days, is linked to warfare. Building legacy projects is war anywhere at anytime because there would be oppositions and distractions. Believers must be well equipped with spiritual weapons while carrying on the Master's task (Ephesians 6:10-18). *"No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier"* (2 Timothy 2:4). Nehemiah and his co-labourers were focused without allowing distractions. Each believer and the Church of God must focus on building the Body of Christ without distractions if we are to get the job done within the shortest time possible.

*Question*

Are you enlisted in the service of God? How focused are you in that service?

*3. Legacy Wall*

a. Nehemiah gave an insight on how sacrificial, committed, consecrated and hardworking they were in building the legacy wall. *"So neither I, nor my brethren, nor my servants, nor the men of the guard which followed me, none of us put off our clothes, saving that every one put them off for washing"*. What a sacrifice without salary or pay! What an uncommon consecration! What a show of love for their city and their God! What a great work without seeking recognition of any man except God alone! If this could be done for just a wall, how much more for the body of Christ which *"He has purchased with His own blood"*. This is directly applicable to believers in Christ. *"Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ"* (1 Peter 2:5). The spiritual sacrifices expected of us is consecration of our talents, thoughts, time and treasures for kingdom legacies, concentrated prayers and intercession for other and full involvement in God's work and the business of soul winning to the glory of God among others.

*Question*

Which spiritual priestly service are you fully involved in as a believer? Which legacy project are you planning to get involved in for Christ's sake?

*Prayer Points*

1.Give praises to God because you are part of His legacy building of the Church with eternal durability .
2.Confess and ask for forgiveness that you are not doing enough for the body of Christ.
3.Lord, I hereby consecrate my time, treasures, talents and thoughts to Your service and service to the Body of Christ.
4.Father, cause every member to give his best for the service in the Body of Christ and let non be an onlooker .

*HYMN:* To the work, to the work.

*BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:*
Ezekiel 29-31.

Buy the truth and sell it not. Your eternity and holiness is not for sale.

Everybody Is a Priceless Treasure – Today’s Youth Devotion
Everybody Is a Priceless Treasure
Bible Reading: Romans 8: 15-17

For his Holy Spirit speaks to us deep in our hearts and tells us that we are God’s children. Romans 8:16

IF YOU HAVE friends or classmates who are depressed to the point of thinking about suicide, there’s no doubt they have an extremely low view of their value and worth. They don’t consider their lives worth salvaging. They lack a sense of belonging, worthiness, and competence.

As you work to develop a relationship with your friends, you might want to help them through a Bible study that highlights how God sees us as lovable, valuable, and useful.

If you don’t feel confident leading your friends in a Bible study, your youth leader or pastor might be willing to help you. The goal of your Bible study and ongoing input into your friends’ lives should highlight three biblical truths:

God sees us as lovable, giving us a sense of belonging. Like everyone else, your friends need to sense they belong to someone. We gain our ultimate sense of belonging when we understand that God loves us unconditionally, just as we are. John 1:12 declares that when we received Christ, we became children of God. He accepted us as his sons and daughters and invites us to call him “Father, dear Father” (Romans 8:15).

God sees us as valuable, giving us a sense of worthiness. Our true worth as persons is proven by the fact that our loving God allowed Jesus Christ, his sinless Son, to die for our sins. Paul said, “But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners” (Romans 5 :8). Your friend is worth the death of God’s Son.

God sees us as useful, giving us a sense of competence. Paul wasn’t bragging when he said, “1 can do everything with the help of Christ who gives me the strength I need” (Philippians 4: 13). Paul simply saw himself as God sees him: gifted and empowered by the Holy Spirit to serve God and others. God wants all believers to realize that he has given each of us specific physical, mental, and spiritual abilities and equipped us to use those abilities successfully. God is so confident in our competence that he has called us to fulfill his great commission (see Matthew 28:18-20).

Do you understand the importance of helping your friends see themselves through God’s eyes? A biblical understanding of our identity in Christ might be your friends’ lifesaver. The more your friends realize they are lovable, valuable, and useful to God, the less likely they will be to think life isn’t worth living.

REFLECT: Ask God for ways to share these truths with hurting friends

PRAY: Tell God that you are ready to help-and that you trust him to teach you how.

*WEAK BUT STRONG* 🫵🏽🏽‍🏽‍🏽🏾🏾‍🏽

```TEXT:NEHEMIAH 4:21-23```
```KEY VERSE:``` _*"So we laboured in the work: and half of them held the spears from the rising of the morning till the stars appeared" (NEHEMIAH 4:21).*_

*A little fellow applied for a job as a woodsman in the north woods, United States. The boss told him he was too small to chop down trees, but he insisted that "I can do it". The boss then gave him an axe and told him to chop down a sapling. He went chop, chop, and it was done. He urged him: "Try that on this redwood". The little man went chop, chop, and chop, and down it went. The boss said, "I've never seen anything like that; where did you learn to chop wood like that?" The little man replied: "In the Sahara Forest" to which the boss quipped: "Don't you mean the Sahara Desert?" The little man answered: "Well, that is what they call it now."*

*As Nehemiah and his team continued the task of rebuilding the broken walls of Jerusalem, the enemies of Israel mocked and ridiculed them. They asked, "What do these feeble Jews?" (Nehemiah 4:2, 3). When their ridicule didn't work, Sanballat and his team began to plan an armed opposition. When Nehemiah knew of it, he alerted his people, armed the builders, and altered the shift arrangements to engage workers who were off duty as security guards for the city, and join in the battle should their enemies attack. They only removed their clothes to freshen up and return to duty. This they did till the job was done.*

*The Jews were ridiculed; the same with Christ's church today. We are a feeble people in the eyes of the world. We are a small and insignificant group compared to the size and prestige of the world. However, God does not measure His people simply by their physical, financial, material, mental, or numerical strength and endowments. He rates them by the state of their hearts, and how surrendered they are.*

*God has chosen the foolish things of the world to shame the wise, and the weak things of the world to confound the mighty. Despite all the ridicule, we can achieve great things through faith and determination. Don't let others' opinions define your life. Those seen as weak often surprise everyone with their remarkable accomplishments.*
