THE WORD THAT REDEEMS WHAT WE SAY
Matthew 12:34 "Brood of vipers! How can you, being evil, speak good things? For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks."
We live in a time when one word can build a life or ruin a reputation, with just one click, we bless or curse. Sometimes, a careless phrase burns bridges that took years to build. On social media, the world reacts before it reflects, judges before it listens, and sadly, many believers join the fire, forgetting we represent God's kingdom not just in what we do, but in what we say. The tongue may be small, but its power is enormous. James warns us it can set a forest ablaze with just one spark. Jesus said, the mouth speaks what the heart is full of. Our words don't just reveal what we think, they reveal what we love. So if we want to heal our speech, we have to start with the heart, we have to let God's Word do its work within us.
The Bible isn't just a book of good advice: it's the living and active Word of God that cuts through the surface, gets to the root, and transforms us from the inside out. It doesn't just teach us to sound kinder; it purifies our motives, it softens our spirit, and it shapes a voice that blesses instead of tearing down. Maybe you're still carrying pain from words you've said, or words that were said to you, but GOD can redeem your voice. Proverbs 18:21 says "The tongue has the power of life and death." Today, you get to choose, and you can choose to speak life. Let the God's Word shape what you say, because when His voice transforms you from within, your words begin to sound more like Him.
PRAYER
Lord, purify my heart so my words reflect Your truth and grace. Teach me to speak gently, to stay silent wisely, and to intentionally bless others with my words. Heal what still hurts inside me, and redeem the things I once said without love. Let Your living and active Word transform every syllable that comes from my mouth. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.
Shalom!!!
