THE PILGRIMS GUIDE WEDNESDAY NOVEMBER 19, 2025 CONFIDENCE BEFORE GOD A WORD FROM THE WORD: "And as we live in God, our love grows more perfect. So we will not be afraid on the day of judgment, but we can face him with confidence because we live like Jesus here in this world." 1 John 4:17 NLT. As a believing child of God, you are not defined by your mistakes or by your success, rather you are defined and optimally identified by the vicarious sacrifices that the LORD Jesus wrought for you on the cross at Calvary, even as you receive Him into your life as your Saviour. If you don't understand your identity in Him, you'll definitely shortchange yourself, the reason is that your identity in Christ comes with rights and privileges. Some so-called believers in Christ are deluged in identity crisis, and as such, cannot optimally live out their Christian faith and life victoriously. But when you understand your identity in Christ, your perspective, character and conduct will definitely experience a positive change, as Paul, the apostle writes by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, 'When someone becomes a Christian, he becomes a brand new person inside. He is not same anymore. A new life has begun.' (2 Corinthians 5:17 LB). It beggars belief that a follower of Christ Jesus would be identified with any other rather than Him. As a Christian, will you at this moment dare to stand up to who you are in Christ, gaining new perspective, change in character and conduct, taking up the accompanying rights and privileges? If it has to be, it's up to you. PRAYER BULLETS: LORD Jesus, I am very grateful for the salvation of my soul. Help me to fully understand my identity in You, and thereby receive the benefits of my rights and privileges.
