Good morning, brethren.
1. Do you pray in the morning? Our morning prayer focuses on "Praying for all people."
2. Do you know the consequences of forgoing God?
3. Do you know the deceipfulness of love outside God?
4. Do you know your true identity?

1. Morning Prayer
I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, [and] giving of thanks, be made for all men; ⏤ 1 Timothy 2:1
Prayer is the key that unlocks all the storehouses of God’s infinite grace and power. ⏤ R.A. Torrey
O God, You have taught us to offer supplications, prayers, and intercessions for all people. We humbly ask You to hear our prayers, which we offer to Your divine Majesty in the name of Jesus Christ.
Remember in Your mercy all people whom You have made to dwell on the earth. Deliver them from the many evils and miseries that oppress them. Deliver them especially from idolatry, ignorance, superstition, error, unbelief, and the chains of sin. Send Your gospel to all nations until everyone has heard its joyful message. Bless all missionaries and organizations dedicated to spreading the gospel. Hasten the coming of Your kingdom among the nations, and bring all Your lost sheep into the fold of the Good Shepherd.
Remember also, all Your people in Christian lands. You have purchased Your church with Your own blood. We ask You to bless all who call upon Your name in prayer. Fill Your church with more of Your life and Spirit. Equip Your ministers with all spiritual gifts and graces.
Remember all who are in any trouble. Strengthen the weak and make them strong in spirit. Lift up those who have fallen. Support those who are discouraged and about to give up. Let a special blessing be upon Your children. They cannot find their way home on their own; You must show them the way. Grant that Your people may always keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace, to the glory of Your holy name. Amen.

*The _Pulpit Bible Commentary_ writes that, 'Judah walked in the way of her sister; therefore, she must drink from her sister's cup. Companions in guilt will be companions in doom. If higher religious privileges do not keep us from following the sinful practices of worldly men, most certainly, they will not protect us from sharing their fate. He who treads the sinner's flowery path will drink the sinner's cup.'*
*Israel's trajectory in perpetual sinning and ungodly alliances made her abhorrent to God. The nations with which she played the harlot were stirred up against her as instruments of chastisement. The focus of Ezekiel in today's passage is the evil influence of Samaria over Judah. Consequently, Judah followed her sister, Israel, who wielded unholy influence over her. Instead of using God's law as a yardstick, she followed the pernicious way of her sister. Indeed, evil communication corrupted her manner. Judah's sins were inexcusable and intolerable. Since she partook in Israel's sin, she also shared in her punishment. Her sin was presumptuous, deliberate, and unjustified. She could not feign ignorance or blame her perversion on Israel.*
*Judah did not turn from wickedness, idolatry, and profanity; therefore, she was equally punished. She refused and wilfully rejected God's counsel, abandoned that which is good, followed the bad example of Israel, and was pursued by her enemies.*
*Many blame their career in sin and its consequences on people around them. The blame game that started in the Garden of Eden resonates in many circles today. They blame their immoral lifestyle, alcoholism, drug addiction, murderous tendencies, wastefulness, and incorrigibility on others rather than themselves. While tempters and temptresses will be judged, those who yield to temptations will not be spared. The grace of God that brings salvation and sets free from sin is available for all. As a free moral agent, you will account for all your actions, words and deeds irrespective of who may have lured or tempted you. *THE DECEITFULNESS OF LOVE OUTSIDE GOD*
*TEXT:* EZEKIEL 23:22-35.
22.Therefore, O Aholibah, thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I will raise up thy lovers against thee, from whom thy mind is alienated, and I will bring them against thee on every side;
23 The Babylonians, and all the Chaldeans, Pekod, and Shoa, and Koa, and all the Assyrians with them: all of them desirable young men, captains and rulers, great lords and renowned, all of them riding upon horses.
24 And they shall come against thee with chariots, wagons, and wheels, and with an assembly of people, which shall set against thee buckler and shield and helmet round about: and I will set judgment before them, and they shall judge thee according to their judgments.
25 And I will set my jealousy against thee, and they shall deal furiously with thee: they shall take away thy nose and thine ears; and thy remnant shall fall by the sword: they shall take thy sons and thy daughters; and thy residue shall be devoured by the fire.
26 They shall also strip thee out of thy clothes, and take away thy fair jewels.
27 Thus will I make thy lewdness to cease from thee, and thy whoredom brought from the land of Egypt: so that thou shalt not lift up thine eyes unto them, nor remember Egypt any more.
28 For thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I will deliver thee into the hand of them whom thou hatest, into the hand of them from whom thy mind is alienated:
29 And they shall deal with thee hatefully, and shall take away all thy labour, and shall leave thee naked and bare: and the nakedness of thy whoredoms shall be discovered, both thy lewdness and thy whoredoms.
30 I will do these things unto thee, because thou hast gone a whoring after the heathen, and because thou art polluted with their idols.
31 Thou hast walked in the way of thy sister; therefore will I give her cup into thine hand.
32 Thus saith the Lord GOD; Thou shalt drink of thy sister's cup deep and large: thou shalt be laughed to scorn and had in derision; it containeth much.
33 Thou shalt be filled with drunkenness and sorrow, with the cup of astonishment and desolation, with the cup of thy sister Samaria.
34 Thou shalt even drink it and suck it out, and thou shalt break the sherds thereof, and pluck off thine own breasts: for I have spoken it, saith the Lord GOD.
35 Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Because thou hast forgotten me, and cast me behind thy back, therefore bear thou also thy lewdness and thy whoredoms.
*Timeless Truth:*_"Because sentence against an evil work is not executed speedily, therefore the heart of the sons of men is fully set in them to do evil"_ (Ecclesiastes 8:11).
*INTRODUCTION*
Singles try to find a match and fall in love -- without ever seeing each other face-to-face, as emotional connection attempts to conquer physical attraction. This is one of the outcomes of the power of social media. There is also "love at first sight" where two people make decisions to be friends and even marry just the first time they see each other. Why there may be few exceptions, all these responses of love have shown to be unreliable judging from common experiences. For example, as at 2016, 50% of celebrity marriages in US, according to Harry Benson, & Rehna Azim, ended up in divorce. The situation would be worse nine years in 2025 when there are many cases of people divorcing or even killing each other the same day they married. In such cases, it is penitent to ask what happened to the love that brought them together and also what is the nature of true and lasting love. Judah was destroyed by God through deception of love through the same people that he loved and pretended to love her. A lesson for us on what is true love and how to discern it.
*1. Passion Jeopardised*
a. Judah, by mere looking at the outward glory, splendour, military might, commercial prosperity and the agility of the citizens of Babylon decided to go into affinity and deep partnership with the Babylonians in love. *"The Babylonians, and all the Chaldeans, Pekod, and Shoa, and Koa, and all the Assyrians with them: all of them desirable young men, captains and rulers, great lords and renowned, all of them riding upon horses"*. The admiration and attraction resulted in commitment without checking up the underlying mysterious power, materialistic principle, mindless policies, merciless partnerships and miserable profanity ruling and reigning in their midst as an heathen nation. As soon as they got involved with them, they truly discovered that it was a nation given to idol worship, using children for sacrifices, deceitful in business, deadly in actions and dark in practices. Rather than Judah retracing their steps, the love for the worldly things of Babylon kept them moving until they became even more corrupt than the Babylonians. They soon discovered that the Babylonians were manipulative, exploitative, treacherous and unreliable. Along the way, their minds were alienated from Babylon and the love wine got finished. But unfortunately, Judah had gone too far with them. These "loved" Babylonians, started to show their true colour and hatred to them. That was the end of their love story which eventually, gave way to oppression and slavery of Judah. *"Therefore, O Aholibah, thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I will raise up thy lovers against thee, from whom thy mind is alienated, and I will bring them against thee on every side"*. These people eventually, came to Jerusalem, conquered them, killed many and carried the surviving to captivity. What a deception of love outside God! *"And they shall come against thee with chariots, wagons, and wheels, and with an assembly of people, which shall set against thee buckler and shield and helmet round about: and I will set judgment before them, and they shall judge thee according to their judgments"*. This was what actually happened in 586 BC. The so-called initial love was mere deception as the Babylonians stripped Jerusalem naked by destroying everything in Judah without leaving any.
*"They shall also strip thee out of thy clothes, and take away thy fair jewels"*.
b. Careless Christians are still attracted to the fashion, funfair, vanity, falsehood and fallacy of this corrupted world. They will soon discover that it is all deception. The world cannot offer any lasting joy, permanent prosperity, true life and peace though they will promise all. Love outside God and the truth of His Word will not last. *"Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God"* (James 4:4).
*Question*
What can you learn as a Christian and as someone looking for a life partner as you could see the love of the world (Babylon) that soon turned into hatred and final destruction?
*2. Profits in Judgment*
a. What happened to Judah was judgment for their evil and godless decisions and choices. Though the multidimensional losses were painful, it was to give them an opportunity to reflect and repent. *"Thus will I make thy lewdness to cease from thee, and thy whoredom brought from the land of Egypt: so that thou shalt not lift up thine eyes unto them, nor remember Egypt any more"*. It was hard and painful enough to make them cease from the idol worship and corrupted lifestyle that had taken over their lives right from when they were in Egypt till when Babylon came to destroy them and carry them to captivity. The corrective judgment of God must be commensurate with the degree of addiction to the sins that God desires to deal with in the life of the backslider. This hard judgment eventually, was what delivered Judah from 2,500 years of idol worship. They were tempted to worship Nebuchadnezzar's idol and they vehemently refused choosing rather to die than to worship idols. Since they came back from captivity till now, that is about 2500 years ago, we never heard of Israel associating with any heathen idol again. The judgment was effective.
b. For those who are passing through divine chastening, rebuke, correction or difficult times as a result of their sins, this is a great lesson for us. *"Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby"* (Romans 12:11). Happy is he who accepts and responds positively to divine chastening, for such will not face eternal judgment in hell fire.
*Question*
Do you think it is wise to wait for divine judgment before one corrects his ways? How do you respond to corrections or rebuke?
*3. Punishment and Justice*
a. Whatever God allows is what is ascribed to God as the Sovereign. The judgment that befell Judah was an act of God for their good. God delivered them to Babylonians and Assyrians they once loved, out of ignorance, who in reality were not looking for their good but pretended to love them. *"For thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I will deliver thee into the hand of them whom thou hatest, into the hand of them from whom thy mind is alienated"*. Hatred always follows betrayal of love. *"And they shall deal with thee hatefully, and shall take away all thy labour, and shall leave thee naked and bare: and the nakedness of thy whoredoms shall be discovered, both thy lewdness and thy whoredoms"*. They decided to go after the way of their sister Samaria and God also decided to give them the same dose of punishment as a righteous God. *"Thou shalt be filled with drunkenness and sorrow, with the cup of astonishment and desolation, with the cup of thy sister Samaria"*. God's reasons for judging sinners and unrepentant backsliders are clear in the Word of God. It is nothing but sin in some shape or form. *"Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Because thou hast forgotten me, and cast me behind thy back, therefore bear thou also thy lewdness and thy whoredoms"*.
b. Backsliders and sinners need not wait for divine punishment or final judgment. There is an open window of mercy and forgiveness as long as there is life. This is the time to seek the face of God for mercy and restoration.
*Question*
Are you a backslider or sinner? When will you seek the face of God before it is too late.
*Prayer Points*
1.Give praises to God because He is a righteous Judge .
2.Ask God to give you grace to love divine chastisement and to always respond positively .
3.Ask for deliverance from any love for anything or anybody that will land you in destruction and defeat.
4.Pray that God will separate all His children from strange and deceptive love.

4. Topic: Our true identity. Text: Psalm 100.
Message:
Dissociative amnesia is a rare condition in which people cannot remember basic information about themselves— their name, relationships, or personal history. While this condition is rare, it is more common for us to forget basic truths about our relationship with God.
Psalm 100 is a praise psalm. At the heart of this poem are some important reminders for us if we have developed any spiritual amnesia. The psalmist challenges the congregation: “Know that the LORD is God” (v. 3). The word “LORD” here is the personal name, “Yahweh.” We need to remember and acknowledge that there is a God. This God has a name and an identity. Yahweh is the God who created the universe, who covenanted with Abraham, who delivered Israel from Egypt, and who sent His Son to die for our sin. We do not worship a nameless, generic deity, but a God who has made Himself known.
The psalmist reminds us: “It is he who made us, and we are his” (v. 3). Yahweh is not only the Creator of the universe, but He also fashioned each one of us (Ps. 139:13). We have an identity that is secure. We have been created by a loving God and we belong to Him. That is a status that we cannot earn, it is received by faith.
The final reminder in this verse is that “we are his people, the sheep of his pasture” (v. 3). God has called us into community. God has a relationship with His people. We were never meant to live the life of faith alone—just me and God. All through Scripture, God has given His people a group identity to be a part of—Israel and the church.
These are wonderful reasons to worship the Lord. We can join with God’s people all through history and confess, “For the LORD is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations” (v. 5).

Amen.

🔑📖```KEY VERSE:``` _*"And I will set my jealousy against thee, and they shall deal furiously with thee: they shall take away thy nose and thine ears; and thy remnant shall fall by the sword: they shall take thy sons and thy daughters; and thy residue shall be devoured by the fire" (EZEKIEL 23:25).*_
But you can reconcile with God today through repentance and faith in Jesus Christ.*

*THE DECEITFULNESS OF LOVE OUTSIDE GOD*
*TEXT:* EZEKIEL 23:22-35.
22.Therefore, O Aholibah, thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I will raise up thy lovers against thee, from whom thy mind is alienated, and I will bring them against thee on every side;
1.Give praises to God because He is a righteous Judge 🙏.
2.Ask God to give you grace to love divine chastisement and to always respond positively 🙏.
3.Ask for deliverance from any love for anything or anybody that will land you in destruction and defeat🙏.
4.Pray that God will separate all His children from strange and deceptive love🙏.
