Currently, the #1 Christian recording artist on iTunes is not a human. Solomon Ray is a computer-generated persona. That has sparked debates among musicians regarding the authenticity of AI-created content. One friend of mine posted on Facebook, “What are your thoughts about this?” I replied, “There were similar complaints with manufactured acts like the Monkees and Milli Vanilli. If people like it, they will buy it.” One woman I previously evangelized with unfriended me because I refused to watch a video she sent claiming AI is demonic. Every form of technology from TV to the Internet had their critics. I do agree we should be cautious not to let it control our lives. It’s likely AI will play a part in the Mark of the Beast, but I’m not worried about that. I believe the church will be raptured before the Antichrist comes into power. In the meantime, let’s continue using technology as tools for reaching the lost. I’ve seen one soul-winning pastor using AI to turn his sermons into songs that he plays during services. The Translate app on my iPhone helps me witness to people who don’t speak English. Jesus said in Luke 19:13 (KJV), “Occupy till I come.”
