THE PEACE OF CHRIST IN TROUBLED TIMES
A WORD FROM THE WORD:
"Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me." John 14:1 KJV.
It can be indubitably said that our anchor Scripture is a very blessed assurance from the LORD Jesus Himself to His disciples during His earthly ministry and to all Christians by extension.
Below are three words, upon any of which the believing child of God can find the peace of Christ in troubled times.
1). 'Your:'
No matter how others are overwhelmed with the situations and circumstances of this present time, let it not be so with you.
You, as a disciple of Christ, more than others, should keep your mind quiet, when everyone and everything else is unquiet.
2). 'Heart:'
Let your heart be kept with full trust in God. Truth is that challenges will, and the journey might not always be on bed of roses, but allow your heart to be still in God, know and recognise that He is.
3). 'Troubled:'
Be not cast down and disquieted.
Here is the remedy against this trouble of mind, 'Believe.' By believing in Christ Jesus, as the Mediator between God and man, you gain comfort. Let not your heart be troubled.
When it seems all hope is gone, even in the midst of disappointment, there's God in heaven. And you have the most blessed assurance, the best thing to do is to believe in God. He'll come through for you.
Ruminate on these words.
PRAYER BULLETS:
LORD Jesus, thank You for all You have done for me and humanity. Endue me with great faith to key in, and appropriate Your blessed assurance and promise of eternity in God's presence.
FURTHER READING:
John 14:1-31; Luke 22:30; James 1:23-24.
