Good evening, brethren.

1. Do you pray in the evening? Our evening prayer focuses on "Blessing on the work of His people."

2. Do you know that we are to look as God looks. Not judges as man judge?

3. Do you know about future things?

4. Do you know about the triumphant shames of the Croos?

To know more, read the message below:

1. Evening Prayer

So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper [in the thing] whereto I sent it. ⏤ Isaiah 55:11

It is possible to move men, through God, by prayer alone. ⏤ Hudson Taylor

We come back this evening, our Father, to continue our prayer for the coming of Your kingdom. The day is past, and the work of Your servants is done. Thousands of ministers have preached Your word, tens of thousands of teachers have taught the children, and in millions of Christian homes, supplications and prayers have been offered. Let not all this work be in vain. May Your Spirit gather up all that has been done for You today and give it Your divine blessing, without which nothing can come of it.

Revive Your work in this land and in the world through this Sunday's ministrations. May many of Your children carry new earnestness and zeal into their living and work tomorrow. May the seeds sown in the furrows today take root and grow. Let not the birds gather up and devour what has been sown. Let not the thorns spring up and choke it. Let not the heat of trials scorch the tender growths. May the good seed grow wherever it has been sown, and may abundant harvests wave on thousands of fields. Prosper Your work on the earth.

May Your peace rest upon our home tonight. May the gentle Dove descend and spread His white wings over us, sheltering us while we sleep. May holy influences rest upon us from this Sunday, and may its teachings and impressions stay with us throughout the week. Keep each of us from the world's ungodly power. Hold us all near Your heart, in the warmth of Your love, in the strong security of Your grace. May the beauty of the Lord our God be upon us. May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God our Father, and the comfort of the Holy Spirit be with us forever. Amen.

Chronological Bible Study from the book of Proverbs

We Are to Look as God Looks, Not Judge as Man Judges – (Proverbs 31:30-31)

Daily Proverbs

Charm is deceitful and beauty is passing, But a woman who fears the Lord, she shall be praised. Give her of the fruit of her hands, and let her own works praise her in the gates.(Proverbs 31:30-31)
Daily Bible Study
This section of scripture ends where it began, with a woman who “fears the Lord.” As we have often seen throughout the book of Proverbs and the Bible when it speaks of “fear of the Lord” it is not speaking of being afraid of God. But rather the word “fear” here means to have a deep down love, awe, respect and reverence for God. So much so that she can think of nothing more than to follow God. And because of her faith she has lived a blessed life. Of course not the life she had planned, but a life more abundant and more blessed than she could have dreamed of herself.

Moreover, look at the opening words of this passage and we see the wrongness of how mankind judges people. We often look not at the heart, but at the outward appearance. And often times we assign to a person’s character attributes they really do not possess. And we do so just because they look a certain way. Whereas on the other hand, we can dismiss others because they do not fit into what society says is pretty. But we are wrong, because God always looks at the heart. God and His word place more emphasis on the heart of a person, rather than their looks. This is because it’s the heart, which governs our love, our attitudes and our actions toward others.

3. Future Things

The LORD shall utter his voice before his army: for his camp is very great: for he is strong that executeth his word: for the day of the LORD is great and very terrible; and who can abide it?
- Joel 2:11

Both in the Old and New Testaments, "the day of the Lord" refers to some obvious and initial events which fulfill specific prophecies.

However, both here in Joel and many other places in Scripture, the ultimate and final day of the Lord is speaking of the return of Jesus Christ from heaven to earth and the conclusion of history. This is the day of the Lord, the final day of life on this earth.

And Joel appropriately describes Christ's second coming as both great and terrible. For those who look by faith to Christ and long for his return, the day will not only be great in its import and power, but in the joy that it brings. The redemption, the deliverance for which they have so long hoped, will finally be a reality. Glorified body and sanctified soul will unite to praise the Savior forever.

However, for those who persist in rebellion against their Creator, who assure themselves that they are not accountable for their actions, this day is terrible. When the voice that called the universe into existence is heard at the forefront of His heavenly army, no one will stand against Him. He is strong to execute, to fulfill, his word.

As he has promised, everyone will give an account of their deeds and be judged before the throne of Christ. Those not found in him will be punished by him.

How do you see that day? Will it be great to you, or will it be terrible? http://www.baptistbiblehour.org/resources/devotional/future-things-9/

Astonished Reverence
In my own being, I could not exist very long as a Christian without the inner consciousness of the presence and nearness of God! I can only keep right by keeping the fear of God on my soul and delighting in the fascinating rapture of worship. I am sorry that the powerful sense of godly fear is a missing quality in churches today. The fear of God is that “astonished reverence” of which the saintly Faber wrote. I would say that it may grade anywhere from its basic element—the terror of the guilty soul before a holy God—to the fascinated rapture of the worshiping saint. There are few unqualified things in our lives, but I believe that the reverential fear of God, mixed with love and fascination and astonishment and adoration, is the most enjoyable state and the most purifying emotion the human soul can know. A true fear of God is a beautiful thing, for it is worship; it is love; it is veneration. It is a high moral happiness because God is!

Verse
Come and hear, all ye that fear God, and I will declare what he hath done for my soul. Psalm 66:16

Thought
I am sorry that the powerful sense of godly fear is a missing quality in churches today.

Prayer
Lord, You said that the fear of You is the beginning of wisdom. I want to be wise. I will fear You even as I adore and worship You.
