Good morning, brethren.

4. Do you know Godly response to tragedies?

To know more, read the message below:

1. Morning Prayer

For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ: ⏤ Philippians 3:20

The men who have done the most for God in this world have been early on their knees. ⏤ E.M. Bounds

O God, most merciful—bless us this morning. Lay Your hand upon us with a Father’s blessing. May the grace of the Lord Jesus be upon us and in us all day long. Let Your word dwell in our hearts richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing us. May it be so deeply rooted in us that it keeps us from sin. May the power of Your Spirit rest upon us throughout this day, cleansing and purifying our thoughts, feelings, and all our inner life, and compelling us to walk in holiness in all we say and do.

Please guide us today, O God, and keep us in all our experiences. Guard us from carelessness. Let us not drift away from the holy truths we have been taught, nor from Jesus Christ our Savior. Let us not become entangled in the affairs of this world in a way that causes us to lose any of the sanctity of our lives. Though we are in the world, let us not be of it. Help us to maintain a godly life amid all that is ungodly. May our citizenship always be visibly in Heaven, even though we dwell on this earth. May we be true pilgrims, looking for a city with foundations, whose architect and builder is God. Let us not love this world as if we were going to stay in it forever.

Grant a personal blessing to each one in our family. Our needs are different. Tenderly care for those of us who are weak. Shelter any of us who will be exposed to temptation today, and let us not fall. If any unforeseen trouble or sorrow lies in our path, prepare us for it, that we may not be caught off guard and fall into sin. May we each carry out into the world a power of love and grace that will bless everyone we meet. We ask all this for Jesus’ sake. Amen.

*BE GRATEFUL TO GOD ALWAYS* 🫵🏽🏽‍🏽‍🏾🏾‍🏽🏽

```TEXT:2 SAMUEL 7:18-29```
```KEY VERSE:``` _*"Then went king David in, and sat before the LORD, and he said, Who am I, O Lord GOD? and what is my house, that thou hast brought me hitherto?" (2 SAMUEL 7:18).*_

*In life, it is very easy to take some things for granted when things seem to be going well for us. Unfortunately, many people, even Christians fail to realise how the mercies and love of God have beautified their lives hitherto. Even when faced with the most life-threatening situations, the sweet psalmist of Israel, David, made gratitude to God and thanksgiving the hallmark of his life and career.*

*Our text presents David's prayer of thanksgiving as an example for us. He had won all battles and God had given him rest. He had built a palace for himself among other blessings. Although he was not happy that his plan to build a house for God was not approved by God, David, however, drew comfort from the promise of God that He had established his kingdom forever and that his son would build the house.*

*In appreciation of God's goodness for establishing his dynasty, David poured his heart with a profound sense of thanksgiving unto Him. David believed that the battles he won were through God's efforts. He noted that God raised him from a very low estate to a great preferment; He gave him success and victory over his enemies and crowned him as king in place of Saul. God not only gave him power and dominion in Israel but also bestowed on him honour and reputation among other nations. He then prayed for the performance of God's other promises.*

*As we reflect on the journey so far, this season serves as a fitting moment to raise our Ebenezer to God and show worthy gratitude to Him. We should speak highly and honourably of the Lord's favours to us. We should build our faith and hope upon the sureness of God's promises. He knows our needs and the best to give to us. Ours is to anchor our faith on His promises, with the assurance that He will never fail.*

3. MORNING TEA. THE WORD FOR TODAY
MONDAY DECEMBER 1, 2025.
"CHRIST-LIKE-NESS"

‘We share in His sufferings…that we may also share in His glory.’ Romans 8:17 NIV

GOD’S NUMBER-ONE goal for you isn’t comfort, it’s Christ-like-ness! And to reach it you’ll have to undergo some of the same experiences that Jesus went through—like being misunderstood by your family, ridiculed by church members, rejected by the world, and disappointed by the people who say they love you. The Bible says we’ve been called to ‘share in his sufferings…that we may also share in his glory.’ So how do we do this? In three ways: 1) Stay focused on God’s plan, not your pain. ‘Let us run with endurance the race God has set before us. We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith’ (Hebrews 12:1-2 NLT). Corrie ten Boom said, ‘If you look within, you’ll feel depressed, if you look without, you’ll be distressed, but if you look to Christ, you’ll be at rest.’ 2) Don’t give in to short-term thinking. Look at Jesus, ‘Because of the joy awaiting Him, He endured the cross’ (v. 2 NLT). Keep your eye on the finish line. You don’t get the trophy until the race is over, so make up your mind to ‘stay the course’ and finish strong. 3) Start praying the right way. When you understand that God’s objective is to make you more like Christ, you’ll start praying fewer ‘comfort me’ prayers and more ‘conform me’ ones. Instead of asking, ‘Why me, Lord?’ you’ll ask, ‘What do You want me to learn, Lord?’ James writes, ‘Let the process go on until…you have become men [and women] of mature character’ (James 1:4 PHPS). That’s how you become more Christ-like.

*GODLY RESPONSE TO TRAGEDIES* 🫵🏽🏽‍🏽‍🏾🏾‍🏽

```TEXT:JOB 1:11-22```
``` MEMORY VERSE:``` _*"In all this Job sinned not, nor charged God foolishly" (JOB 1:22).*_

*Life is an equation that must be solved with godly principles (God's strategy). Tragic situations like trials, temptations, troubles, and tribulations are common in our lives. Tragedy is a disastrous event especially one involving great loss or injury. Job experienced it in different ways - loss of servants, sheep, sons and daughters.*

*For you in particular, you need to know that there are degrees of tragedy for young people. It could be examination failure, bereavement, denial of legitimate rights, distortion of life's dream, financial instability, trauma, and ill-health.*

*Inability to initiate appropriate strategies to triumph over tragedies has caused loss of lives to many youths. Some resort to unbelief, blasphemy, murmuring, and so on when they face challenges of life. Job did not blame God but sought God's face in prayer and maintained the language of faith as he confessed: "blessed be the name of the Lord" (Job 1:21).*

*To triumph over tragedy, you must make Jesus your Lord and personal Saviour, develop spiritual stamina through studying of and meditating on God's Word, and maintaining a righteous life.*
