REBUILDING THE BROKEN ALTAR OF THE HEART
A WORD FROM THE WORD:
".....And he repaired the altar of the LORD that was broken down." 1 Kings 18:30 NKJV.
An altar from the biblical perspective is simply defined as a place of sacrifice or a place of meeting with God. The children of Israel at the point of our scriptural context had long despised God's altar in their midst, and had allowed it to be in a state of disrepair by their worship of Baal and other foreign gods.
Your heart in this context is that altar of God. The effort to rebuild God's altar in your life kickstarts with the realisation and recognition that the altar is in disarray and you're not experiencing fellowship with God as before or you're not where God wants you to be.
Elijah, God's prophet, in his God-ordained effort to bring the people of God back to Him and cause revival, had to rebuild God's altar in their midst. Only after then and God's evincing manifestation by fire and consuming of the sacrifice set before Him on the rebuilt altar did it become clear about the reality of the true God, and the attendant restoration and revival in the land.
The following (though not exhaustive) will be of tremendous help to you on how to rebuild the altar of God in your life.
1). Be A Living Sacrifice. (Romans 12:1-2)
2). Non-conformity To The Evil World System. (Romans 12:2)
3). Imitating The Character of God. (Leviticus 11:44; 1 Peter 1:15-16).
You must ensure that you don't follow or dovetail the fashions and patterns of the evil world system, even when they appear very fascinating and appealing. You must repent and refrain from such if you're already entangled by it. And you'll be on your way to a complete rebuilding of God's broken altar in your life.
PRAYER BULLETS:
ABBA Father, I thank You for bringing me to the point of realising my need to rebuild Your altar in my life. Help me as I embark on this restorative pursuit of relationship with You.

1 Kings 18:30-38.
