A SPIRIT-EMPOWERED LIFE

Galatians 5:16-23 "But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. For the desires of the flesh are against the Spirit, and the desires of the Spirit are against the flesh, for these are opposed to each other, to keep you from doing the things you want to do. But if you are led by the Spirit, you not under the law. Now the works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions, envy, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law."

Today, we are going to drink from the "stream of living water", the stream is the spirit-empowered- life. We are learning how to fuel our lives from the presence and power of God. When Paul urges us to "walk by the Spirit" (Galatians 5:16), what do you think he means? "Walk by the Spirit' implies both direction and empowerment, that is making decisions and choices according to the Holy Spirit's guidance, and acting with the spiritual power that the Spirit supplies." In other words, Paul is saying, if you want to live a meaningful, holy and impactful life, walk directed and empowered by the Spirit who will not only show you where to go, but He'll also give you the means to get there.

Maybe, you're asking how can I live this life? Firstly recognize that you already have the Holy Spirit within you, if you believe in Jesus and have accepted His gift of salvation, then you have also received the life-giving, eternal living water of the Holy Spirit (John 7:38). The same Spirit who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you (Romans 8:11) and you have become His dwelling place (1 Corinthians 6:19). He is with you right now! Lastly, listen to and follow actively the Spirit's promptings with you; mindfully welcoming His guidance and being open to His subtle movements. This discipline requires intentionality, patience and practice, but it's one we can all grow in. Ultimately, it is a daily decision to make space, to tune your attention to God's voice and to seek your comfort, wisdom, and help from Him alone.

PRAYER
Gracious God, I am thankful Your Spirit dwells powerfully in me, directing my steps and empowering my heart. Teach me to notice Your subtle guidance, to choose obedience over hesitation, and to rely on Your strength in every moment. May Your presence fill my thoughts, shape my words, and inspire my actions, turning each day into an offering of love and faith. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen

Shalom!!!
