THROWBACK THURSDAY - Visiting a Christmas light display in Lakeland, Florida (2015). An elderly woman who connected with me on Facebook had invited me to come stay in this city. She even offered to set up a “prophet’s chamber” for me in her home. To my surprise, this woman suddenly asked me to leave the day after my arrival. No conflicts had happened between us. I ended up returning to the missionary house in Tampa where I usually spend part of the winter. Over the years, other individuals who extended hospitality or offered to support me financially didn’t follow through on their promises. That’s why Christians need to look to God as their source instead of people who will often let you down. “It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man.” (Psalm 118:8)
