Good evening, brethren.
Do you pray in the evening? Our evening prayer focuses on "Resting in His peace."
2. Do you know that dweling in the Lord brings ultimate safety?
3. Do you know the New Testament roots?
To know more, read the message below:
1. Evening Prayer
Thou wilt keep Moses Ishaku in perfect peace, [whose] mind [is] stayed [on thee]: because he trusteth in thee. ⏤ Isaiah 26:3
Prayer is the soul's sincere desire, uttered or unexpressed. ⏤ James Montgomery
Father, though it’s dark around us, it is always light with You. We come at nightfall to thank You for the day’s mercies and to confess our sins. Blot out every transgression. Wash us, and we shall be whiter than snow. Accept what we bring to You tonight, and let Your blessing be upon it all.
We ask You for Your special peace. We remember Your promise to keep in perfect peace those whose minds are stayed on You. We desire to keep our minds stayed on You. You are an everlasting rock. You are the same yesterday, today, and forever. You are the everlasting Father. Nothing ever disturbs Your security. We would lean . . .
Our weakness on Your strength,
Our ignorance on Your wisdom,
Our trembling insecurity on Your unchangeableness.
We would rest in You. Help us to rest in You as birds rest in their nests in the great rock, and not be afraid.
Save us from all fear. We are only little children in this world of danger, but we are safe in You. Help us, therefore, to trust and never be afraid. Cover us with Your sheltering wings. Hold us in the clasp of Your hand—in the embrace of Your everlasting arms. Preserve us from . . .
The fascinations of the world,
The assaults of the tempter,
The insidious wickedness of our own hearts.
May You bless our mutual influence as a home. We love each other; may our love grow more tender. Sometimes we fail to show our love, even appearing cold, indifferent, and ungracious. Help us to be kindly affectionate in manner as well as loving in heart.
We pray for our neighbors and friends. May Your grace be upon them.
Comfort the sorrowful,
Relieve the distressed,
Have mercy upon the sinful.
We ask all in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

Dwelling in the Lord Brings Ultimate Safety (Proverbs 1:27-33)
Dwelling in the Lord Brings Ultimate Safety (Proverbs 1:27-33)
Daily Proverbs
When your terror comes like a storm, and your destruction comes like a whirlwind, when distress and anguish come upon you. “Then they will call on me, but I will not answer; they will seek me diligently, but they will not find me.” Because they hated knowledge and did not choose the fear of the Lord, they would have none of my counsel and despised my every rebuke. Therefore they shall eat the fruit of their own way, and be filled to the full with their own fancies. For the turning away of the simple will slay them, and the complacency of fools will destroy them; but whoever listens to me will dwell safely, and will be secure, without fear of evil.
Daily Bible Study
Trusting in the things of man, the things of this world leads to destruction. Society is constantly undergoing change. Nations rise and nations fall. Natural disasters can destroy cities and man can destroy countries. And when tribulation comes there is nothing in the ways of this world on which we can trust. There is nothing mankind can create that can provide permanent security. Moreover, mankind in their rebellion against God, will often trust in the silliest of things in order to turn away from the Lord. And that’s the message at the heart of these passages. Those who do not trust in the Lord will ultimately find destruction. Moreover, a godly character is built upon a lifetime of trusting in the Lord. This means we build our relationship with Jesus stronger on a daily basis, not just when trials come our way.
Therefore, as we read these passages we must understand to continually reject God and trust in a fallen world, ultimately means destruction for us and eternal separation from God. However, through our faith in Jesus, we can trust in God through times of trouble. And through our faith in Christ alone, we can be strengthened in the Lord during those trials we know will come. We can have a relationship with God through Christ Jesus our Lord, a relationship that not only gives us strength and perseverance through trials, but a relationship that also brings the free gift of eternal life. Moreover, those who have a relationship with Jesus, through faith alone in Him, will have a supernatural peace, which comes from the Lord. A peace that is present even when the world at large is unstable and in turmoil. A joy that comes from knowing that no matter what, our eternity with Christ is secure forevermore.

New Testament Roots
It is really a blessed thing in our Christian fellowship and in our congregations that God never asks whether it is a big church or a little church! A young pastor, when introduced to a well-known church leader, said, “You do not know me. I am the pastor of a little rural church.” I think it was a wise reply that came from the churchman: “Young man, there are no little churches; all churches are the same size in God’s sight!” But, whether large or small, it must be an assembly of believers brought together through the name of Jesus, to worship in God’s presence; and with the right to receive all that God bestows. With these roots, we should ask ourselves if we are truly interested in spiritual attainment as were the New Testament believers. We must confess that the spiritual temperature among us may often be lower than in the Early Church. But we hold to the message that those who truly honor the presence of the Savior are included in this relationship that goes back to the New Testament and to the apostles!
Verse
For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body . . . and have been all made to drink into one Spirit. 1 Corinthians 12:13
Thought
We should ask ourselves if we are truly interested in spiritual attainment as were the New Testament believers.
Prayer
Lord, I am so glad that You do not look at us in terms of numbers. Help us to measure ourselves as You measure us.
