Our Father in Heaven, we, Your earthly children, worship You. We thank You for Your word, which we can read at the opening of the day, taking it as a lamp to our feet and a light to our path. May it be to us indeed a light this day, shining for us and showing us the way of holiness. We always need a divine lamp, for the earth is dark. Sin has made it perilous to travel on these treacherous ways without a lamp. No human friend can guide us infallibly. We cannot guide ourselves. We would never find the way home were it not for the light of truth which You have given, which makes every smallest part of the path through this world clear and plain if we will walk in the light.
Let us not try to walk in the light of our own understanding, stumbling and falling. We put our hands in Yours this morning, and we would be led by You all day. We do not know where our paths will take us. It may be that darkness lies before us, or hard and rough ways, or that we must enter some Gethsemane. Lead us, O Jesus, where You will, and give us grace to follow submissively.
We seek Your blessing upon all the work of this day. Show us what You would have us do. May we find the tasks You have in Your plan and purpose for us, and then do them faithfully. Let us never resist Your gracious leading. Enable us always to do Your will, as it is done in Heaven. Bless us . . .

*THE MESSAGE:*
Human kings and judges often make unfair judgements. But the coming king from the lineage of Jesse is different. The Spirit of the Lord rests on Him, giving Him wisdom, understanding, knowledge and the fear of God. By these qualities, He will not judge by what He sees or hears only. Indeed, during Jesus' ministry He made just and fair decisions because He has a deeper understanding. For example Jesus said, "Give to Caesar what is Caesar's, and to God what is God's (Mt. 22:21); "If any one of you is without sin, let him be the first to throw a stone at her" (Jn. 8:7). Indeed, those who listened to Jesus testified that He is from God. Those who experience the transformative power of Jesus are equipped to administer justice. Be one!

MESSAGE:
Years ago, one of my children decided to buy a ticket for me to go on a cruise. For the first six days of the cruise, it was like heaven on earth; the sea was calm, the wind blew softly, and the skies were very clear, However, on the seventh day, a storm came. Believe me, you don't want to be on the ocean when there is a storm. The ship was several stories high, but the waves kept tossing it up and down like paper. Everything on board was shaking, and objects were flying around. It was very terrible. Things got so bad that the captain called everyone on board together and said, "Ladies and gentlemen, don't be worried. There are 12 categories of storms at sea. Category 1 is the mildest, while category 12 is the most turbulent - we are only caught in a category 10 storm." When I heard that, I became afraid. I turned to God and said, "God, what am I doing here in a category 10 storm? In my village, the biggest river is so small that an amateur swimmer can swim across it." The captain continued, "Don't worry, just go back to your cabins." When I got to my cabin, I asked God, "Lord, what am I going to do now?" He replied, "Son, when I was on earth, and I was in a boat that was caught in a storm, what was I doing?" I responded, "Lord, You were sleeping." I knew exactly what to do. I immediately jumped on the bed, and in minutes, I was fast asleep. By the time I woke up, we were already at the port, and everything was calm and peaceful. Anytime I tell this story, people ask me, "How could you sleep in such a situation?" I usually think to myself, "What else could I have done, jump into the ocean?" I didn't even know how to swim; however, I had the kind of peace that only God gives. Also, if I had not learnt to hear God's voice before the storm, I might have developed high blood pressure due to anxiety for nothing.
Beloved, if you are truly a child of God, then He is always with you. You can live a life free of anxiety if you spend quality time with Him daily because you will know His voice, and He will give you His peace - the peace that passes all understanding (Philippians 4:7).
KEY POINT:
If you are a child of God, He will always be with you, and you will enjoy His peace when you spend quality time with Him.

*On his deathbed, Sir Walter Scott, the Scottish poet and novelist, told his secretary: "Bring me the Book!" When asked what book, he replied, "There is but one book...the only Book for a dying man." Scott was a great Christian who found the Bible, the only Book for a dying man and the only Book for a living man because it is the Word of life and his hope in temptations and death.*
*Job was not on his deathbed, but he was going through near-death bodily pains and depression after losing all his children, businesses, and property. He also had a supportive wife and friends who could not comfort him in his despair. He needed the God who does not desert those in straits; who has the best soothing counsel and comfort for every discouraged and depressed soul. And that was what Elihu gave him. He spoke of a good Lord who "hide(s) pride from man... (who) keepeth back his soul from the pit and his life from perishing by the sword."*
*The world is writhing in regional conflicts, threatening to escalate into a global one, and God's word is needed for stability. The system that modern civilization has given man has not yielded positive results. Instead, it has brought the world more sorrow, as did Job's friends. Man is at his wit's end, unable to help himself. Only a Lord who chastens lovingly can restore hope and life to the world.*
*This is the message for our world today. We must have the right disposition to invite and embrace God and His teachings into the affairs of our lives and world. Job did not have a reversal of his fortunes until God spoke into his deplorable condition. Let the Church also speak heaven's message of the new birth and righteousness into the lives of men and women of the world so they can transit from their spiritual deathbeds to life under the watch of Jehovah God.*

Category 1 is the mildest, while category 12 is the most turbulent - we are only caught in a category 10 storm." When I heard that, I became afraid. I turned to God and said, "God, what am I doing here in a category 10 storm? In my village, the biggest river is so small that an amateur swimmer can swim across it." The captain continued, "Don't worry, just go back to your cabins." When I got to my cabin, I asked God, "Lord, what am I going to do now?" He replied, "Son, when I was on earth, and I was in a boat that was caught in a storm, what was I doing?" I responded, "Lord, You were sleeping." I knew exactly what to do. I immediately jumped on the bed, and in minutes, I was fast asleep. By the time I woke up, we were already at the port, and everything was calm and peaceful. Anytime I tell this story, people ask me, "How could you sleep in such a situation?" I usually think to myself, "What else could I have done, jump into the ocean?" I didn't even know how to swim; however, I had the kind of peace that only God gives. Also, if I had not learnt to hear God's voice before the storm, I might have developed high blood pressure due to anxiety for nothing.
Beloved, if you are truly a child of God, then He is always with you. You can live a life free of anxiety if you spend quality time with Him daily because you will know His voice, and He will give you His peace - the peace that passes all understanding (Philippians 4:7).
KEY POINT:
If you are a child of God, He will always be with you, and you will enjoy His peace when you spend quality time with Him.

ππ```KEY VERSE:``` _*"He keepeth back his soul from the pit, and his life from perishing by the sword" (JOB 33:18).*_
*On his deathbed, Sir Walter Scott, the Scottish poet and novelist, told his secretary: "Bring me the Book!" When asked what book, he replied, "There is but one book...the only Book for a dying man." Scott was a great Christian who found the Bible, the only Book for a dying man and the only Book for a living man because it is the Word of life and his hope in temptations and death.*
*Job was not on his deathbed, but he was going through near-death bodily pains and depression after losing all his children, businesses, and property. He also had a supportive wife and friends who could not comfort him in his despair. He needed the God who does not desert those in straits; who has the best soothing counsel and comfort for every discouraged and depressed soul. And that was what Elihu gave him. He spoke of a good Lord who "hide(s) pride from man... (who) keepeth back his soul from the pit and his life from perishing by the sword."*
*The world is writhing in regional conflicts, threatening to escalate into a global one, and God's word is needed for stability. The system that modern civilization has given man has not yielded positive results. Instead, it has brought the world more sorrow, as did Job's friends. Man is at his wit's end, unable to help himself. Only a Lord who chastens lovingly can restore hope and life to the world.*
*This is the message for our world today. We must have the right disposition to invite and embrace God and His teachings into the affairs of our lives and world. Job did not have a reversal of his fortunes until God spoke into his deplorable condition. Let the Church also speak heaven's message of the new birth and righteousness into the lives of men and women of the world so they can transit from their spiritual deathbeds to life under the watch of Jehovah God.*
