*ЁЯХК DOMINION DAILY DEVOTION ~ DAY 345*
* DATE:11TH DECEMBER, 2025*
*TOPIC: FOLLOWING THE EXAMPLE OF JESUS тАФ PART 2 (FORGIVENESS)*
*ANCHOR SCRIPTURE: Matthew 6:12 (NKJV)*
*тАЬAnd forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.тАЭ*
*DEVOTIONAL MESSAGE*
Yesterday, we began looking at the subject of following the example of Jesus and explored several patterns He left for us to reflect Him in our daily walk with God and in our relationships with people. Today, we focus on another critical example Jesus gave usтАФforgiveness.
Jesus, our perfect pattern man and model, taught clearly on forgiveness when He instructed His disciples on how to pray. He stated that our experience of GodтАЩs forgiveness is tied to our willingness to forgive others: тАЬForgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.тАЭ He did not only teach itтАФHe practiced it. While hanging on the cross, bruised and insulted, Jesus prayed, тАЬFather, forgive them, for they do not know what they do.тАЭ Stephen, following this same pattern, echoed JesusтАЩ heart when he prayed for God to forgive those who stoned him.
Child of God, as long as you live on this earth, offense is unavoidable. People will hurt you in business, in marriage, in ministry, in school, in church, and even within your own family. But as believers, we must cultivate a lifestyle of forgiveness if we are to sustain meaningful, healthy relationships. The writer of Hebrews reminds us to тАЬpursue peace with all men.тАЭ
Harboring unforgiveness is a heavy burden. It eats up your joy, destroys your peace, and hinders both spiritual and physical growth. It delays blessings and opens the door to bitterness, which can drive one into destructive decisionsтАФjust as the sons of Jacob, driven by bitterness, plotted murder in an attempt to avenge themselves.
Therefore, make it your discipline today to forgive. Forgive yourself for past mistakes, and forgive those who have offended you. Do it for your spiritual health, your emotional freedom, and your walk with God. Forgiveness is not weaknessтАФit is a reflection of Christ within you.
*PRAYER*
Lord Jesus, help me to follow Your example of forgiveness. Give me the grace to release every offense, to walk in peace with all people, and to maintain a pure heart before You. Heal every wound in me and teach me to forgive as You forgave. Amen.
