Good evening, brethren.
1. Our evening prayers focus on "Blessing of the Sunday rest."
2. Do you know God's perfect timing?
3. Do you know that the Lord disciplines His children?
To know more, read the message below:
1. Evening Prayer
There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God. ⏤ Hebrews 4:9
Prayer is the ascent of the soul to God. ⏤ John Bunyan
Our heavenly Father, help us to draw near to You this evening. Our thoughts wander so easily that it is hard for us to bring them into a reverent attitude. Our lives gravitate earthward. The old nature in us is strong. The influences around us are worldly. When we would do good—evil is present with us. We cannot even pray without Your help. Help us, O God. Have mercy upon us, and draw us by Your Spirit to Yourself. Enable us to commune with You. Put into our hearts holy thoughts, and may we breathe them back to You in prayers. Fill us with Your love—and then we shall be loving as You are.
We beseech You, our Father, to make this Sunday truly a day of blessing and good in our lives. Our minds have been turned to holy things; may we be holier through all the week because of this. May our minds carry the sacred memories of the day, and may they be like sweet songs singing in us wherever we go. May invisible spiritual things be more real to us because of these Sunday hours. May the hold of the world upon us be loosened, and may its power over us be lessened through this day’s holy influences. So may abiding blessing be ours, as we leave another Sunday behind us, and may our lives attest to the reality of our union with You.
We thank You for the hope of the eternal rest of which this earthly day is a token and a pledge. Prepare us for that rest which remains for Your people. May the influence of this heavenly hope draw upon us mightily while we journey through this world. May its holiness keep us from sinning. May we get nearer in heart and life to You each day as we draw nearer each day to Your glory. We ask in Jesus’ precious name. Amen.

The Lord Disciplines His children – (Proverbs 3:11-12)
The Lord Disciplines His children – (Proverbs 3:11-12)
Daily Proverbs
My son, do not despise the chastening of the Lord, Nor detest His correction; For whom the Lord loves He corrects, Just as a father the son in whom he delights.
Daily Bible Study
When we accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior, we become children of God and joint-heirs with Christ. In addition, the Holy Spirit takes up residence within us. We as children of God are sealed by God, through the indwelling of the Holy Spirit until the time of our glorification. This is the time when we will go home to be with the Lord. Because we are part of the family of God, the Holy Spirit does a work in our hearts and that work is called sanctification. Sanctification is the process of spiritual growth carried out within our hearts and minds by God.
In addition sanctification can also include discipline or chastisement from the Lord when we stray away from God. In our previous condition before salvation we were separated from God and unaware of His working in our lives. Now that we are part of the family of God, we are sensitive to the Lord's blessings, direction and discipline in our day to day walk with Him. We should take joy and comfort in God's direct involvement and workings in our lives. As we grow in the knowledge of God's word, we grow in the knowledge of Christ Jesus our Lord and all that He has done for us. And as a result of our growth in Christ, we walk closer with Him on a daily basis. This is what it means to be called a child of God and a follower of Christ Jesus our Lord!
