Good evening, brethren.
1. Our evening prayer focuses on "reflecting on the day."
2. How do you serve others?
3. Do you know the joy of rediscovery?
4. Do you know that God is with you through tribulation?
To know more, read the message below.
1. Evening Prayer
So teach [us] to number our days, that we may apply [our] hearts unto wisdom. ⏤ Psalm 90:12
Pray without ceasing, with one breath talking to God, and with the other talking to people. ⏤ S.D. Gordon
Our Father in Heaven, hallowed be Your name. May Your kingdom come. May Your will be done on earth, as it is in Heaven. The day is gone, and we cannot recall it . . .
To amend its doings,
To correct its mistakes,
To blot out its sins,
To undo the things we ought not to have done,
To do the things we ought to have done but left undone,
To unsay the words we ought not to have said,
To speak the words we ought to have spoken.
The day is gone from us—and is with You. We leave it in Your hands. Whatever we have done that was not according to Your will—may You graciously forgive. The things that pleased You—may You bless. May good come out of the day for us. Our disappointments, we accept as Your appointments for us—better than our own way would have been. Teach us the lesson You would have us learn from the day’s experiences. May . . .
Our faith be stronger,
Our love deeper,
Our earnestness more intense,
Our zeal more fervent.
We pray continually for our home. We thank You . . .
For the love that binds us together as a family,
For the privileges and favors we enjoy,
For the health and comfort we have,
For the measure of prosperity that attends our work.
Fill our home with even more love and warmth. Help us to be even more supportive and caring toward one another. Teach us patience and forbearance. Help us to restrain all bitter and unloving words and to speak all kindly words. Bless us as individuals, older and younger. Give us now Your blessing as we go to our rest. Keep us in safety through the night. And may grace, mercy, and peace from the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, be upon us evermore. Amen.

2. Serving Others
Whosoever shall give you a cup of water to drink in my name, because ye belong to Christ, verily I say unto you, he shall not lose his reward
- Mark 9:41
We often look for the big, splashy acts of service or devotion by which we can prove our love for God. But Jesus says even the smallest act of service in his name is never missed, will never go unrewarded by God.
Genuine Christian service can be as simple and practical and otherwise forgettable as giving a thirsty saint a cup of water to drink. The person themselves might forget you brought them the water; you may forget the service the moment after you render it (Matthew 25:37); but God will not forget it.
Most Christians are not required to be martyred for their faith, or to be tortured for the sake of Christ. But every Christian is required to die daily to self, to think of others and how the kingdom of God can be served in even the smallest way.
Are there widows in your church whom you could encourage with a visit or phone call? Is there a brother or sister in Christ who has some physical or financial need with which you could help? Is there a young person in your church who just needs a little attention and direction in order to overcome personal insecurities or pressures from peers?
The one who is willing to anonymously serve in the kingdom of Christ shall not lose his reward. Notice, Jesus didn't just say he will receive a reward, but he shall not lose it! There are eternal blessings to each and every practical act of Christian service. http://www.baptistbiblehour.org/resources/devotional/serving-others-10/

God is With Us Through Tribulation – (Proverbs 3:25-26)
Daily Proverbs
Do not be afraid of sudden terror, nor of trouble from the wicked when it comes; for the Lord will be your confidence, and will keep your foot from being caught.
Daily Bible Study
Jesus told us in this life we will have tribulation and this is so important for us to remember as followers of Christ. We cannot let ourselves be fooled by the world's message that wealth and prosperity are any measure of our faith in God. Moreover, we know that we can suffer pain and loss for many reasons due to the fallen world we live in. This fallen world brings with it disease, death and sin. We can suffer from sin, either our own sin or the sin of others. We can suffer from the spiritual warfare that goes on around us which brings chaos, disappointment and destruction into our lives. And we can suffer from disease and death which is part of the fallen nature of the world and our bodies. However, we can be comforted knowing that God is always with us.
No matter what we face God is there with us, right alongside of us in the person of the Holy Spirit. And that's the message at the heart of these passages. Not that we won't face trials, but that we should not be afraid of trials because God is right there by our side every step of the way. As followers of Jesus, there will never be a trial that we will face alone, without God right there with us. This means, we can cry out to Him for help, for love, for understanding and guidance as we go through trials in our lives. This is what James was referring to in his New Testament epistle, when he said that all followers of Jesus are to remain steadfast through trials, by our faith in Christ Jesus our Lord as we are strengthened by the Holy Spirit who indwells all believers. In addition, God has promised that through the power of the Holy Spirit at work in us and in our lives, He can work all things out for our good as it relates to our spiritual growth and the eternity which awaits us.
