Mark 5:34-36 NLT And he said to her, “Daughter, your faith has made you well. Go in peace. Your suffering is over.” Mark While he was still speaking to her, messengers arrived from the home of Jairus, the leader of the synagogue. They told him, “Your daughter is dead. There’s no use troubling the Teacher now.”But Jesus overheard them and said to Jairus, “Don’t be afraid. Just have faith.”
Good morning and praise God. I hope you're having a great day. We're only six days to Christmas! How ready are you to celebrate? Today's verses comes as an encouragement for us. It's a two stories intertwined. First, Jesus is headed to Jairus home invited to heal his sickly daughter but along the way, a woman who had bled for twelve years secretly push her way with faith that if she touches the clock of Jesus she'll be healed which happened as so. Her faith in Jesus healed her though she had to break all rules of uncleanliness set by laws then. Actually with her issue, she wasn't around people for everything or anyone she touched would be regarded as unclean. After this, Jairus is informed that his daughter and the messengers tell's him there's no more need of bringing Jesus to his home. Jesus overheard this. He comforts Jairus not to fear but rather just have faith. When they got home, people were already there singing dirges and weeping. It was all commotion and Jesus then make them laugh satirically when he told them the girl wasn't dead but was asleep. He then made them all to leave. Were they real morners or paid actors? Jesus then held the hand of the dead girl and called "Talitha koum!" which means "Little girl wake-up!". The twelve years girl immediately stood up and walked around. I believe after this there was a true celebrations in this home. This is what we all need this Christmas. We need to have faith by inviting Jesus rather than looking at how things are or what others are telling us. Just as Jesus said "Don't be afraid, just have faith." Be like that lady who broke protocols through her faith and reached out to Jesus secretly for her twelve year's problem solution. Let's Jesus who raised Jairus twelve year's girl raise your dead hope! Talitha koum! Wake up. Says the Lord. Have a blessed day . Shalom. Shalom.
